    The issue isn't HD/non HD. On a 16x9 set, ANY content in 4:3 format will have the bars on either side, unless you stretch (and distort) to fill the screen. If you pop a fullscreen format DVD into your player, you'll see the bars.

    I suspect you can't..... they are probably encrypted to prevent that very thing. Or at the very least the disk format may well be something your computer/OS cannot recognize.

    Most of the information that was on the "Canadian Solution" page is gone. No discussions of the advantages, no broker info, no hardware info, all that is gone. Only thing left is dish pointing info, programming packages and links to *C. I don't see any indication that they still sell hardware...

    I suspect you are wrong. NFL guards use of their content quite strenuously. There is a disclaimer somewhere in the transmission, either read orally or shown on-screen, stating that the broadcasts are for private, non-commercial use only, and using a C-band satellite feed or a local station's...

    You don't need to be a Canadian citizen to have Starchoice in the United States. Search the forum for information on signing up with a programming broker to be the go-between with the Canadian programming supplier.
