Can cable access channels rebroadcast FTA ones?

I guess I'll have to contact the major networks of them then.

Can cable access channels rebroadcast FTA ones?

I would like to expand a bit of content on my local cable access channel. My provider is starting to branch off into some international tv. So far it is mostly Spanish but there is RAI, TV5, CCTV9 etc. Rebroadcasting those I'm sure would cause a conflict of interest. I'm not a lawyer but I...

Could we campaign Euro FTA providers to transmit here?

"The other FTA stuff will probably never show up here but the government funded news outlets may listen to us. The BBC news channel and DW-TV would be a good start! " They already broadcast in north america...kinda. PBS at least in the boston area shows over the air BBC, DWTV (European...

How would a country indepedently jam/scramble a fta signal?

I've heard that in Iran somehow the government is jamming or scrambling up foreign media tv. I'm just wondering how it could be done with tv. With radio I guess if you broadcast on the same frequency and use more power you can override it but how can an entire footprint be scrambled. I'm just...

    Comcast Problem

I just noticed some problems on hgtv hd...sometimes the audio would go out for less than a second, some random blockyness. If it's just on one channel then it might actually just be that channel. Right now where I am it's snowing at a steady pace. Cable co's get their signals from satellite...

    Comcast STB at another address

Well there's a few factors that you haven't stated. 1) is this a analog cable box or a digital? an analog cable box at this point I think is pointless. Most cable co's that I know of have take off any encrypted analog programming so you really don't need a box for analog cable. 2) was she...

Should there be a Raw feeds section?

Silicondust is OK but these ones seem not to show up. The biggest one doesn't even show up in mapping...I found one good channel...went up...ok found another...hmm the odd thing is sometimes when you find a channel all of a sudden others show up but they are empty. out of around 330 or so...

Should there be a Raw feeds section?

I know it might sound odd to talk about wild feeds with cable. FTA fans know what it refers to. If your tv has a ATSC tuner you can scan with the tuner and find things...odd things...some very nice things :D I don't think this should be totally public as I'm sure a cableco would take...

What was the first military event shown on FTA?

well it isn't so much of someone actually viewing but just that the technology was being used for that. Just trying to find something because it seems as if the technology allowed for instant broadcasting but the media itself wasn't really allowed for the first few days.

What was the first military event shown on FTA?

To backtrack a bit I'm doing a report in a class on the invasion of Panama. I remember reading somewhere that it was the first US war that was covered live by satellite. I'm not talking feeds but actual reporting on air. If this is true is there anything saying that in an article? Thanks.

Are some fta channels allowed to be rebroadcasted?

I'm not talking about any hacking. I'm thinking I might be able to convince where I go to school to maybe fund a grant for something with FTA. As a bonus maybe I could have the school keep the equipment and maybe they could feed the ethnic programming into the internal channels for the...

Could these work with dish network or star choice?

I thought I remember reading that the chip was a motorola 505 (I'm not sure what the differences are between that and a 505a) I know obviously you'd need the dish and you'd also need the cards and you would paying for the programming....

Could a old voom box for for star choice?

    CCTV leaving G3 soon

CCTV 9 I get the Biz china show as part of the azt tv channel on cable...I think I know why they just ended this... CCTV is going to be the exclusive producer of content for the olympics next year. They probably signed a contract with rodgers and the satellite co's to make some more money on...

    HD vs Satellite Radio

Certainly there's far more formats to listen to music today than before. Plenty of devices can play mp3's....pda's, gpd's, some cd players, dvd players etc. I don't think that either format would kill the other outright. this is how hd could play things a bit 1) making sure that every...

    HD vs Satellite Radio

I have a HD one and I think it's interesting to a point. I think much of it though depends as to the station and depends if it's in a car or not. There's some great content that's good as long as I'm within say 15 miles from the transmitter. However there's also a public radio one that has three...

Keep a watch on the Pakistani channels

There's been a state of emergancy and apparently from what flashed on CNN the selling of dishes there is now banned (didn't say if it ment domestically or if imports are still allowed) It said that channels are now being streamed online...if they cut off that then most tv will be gone (except...

DVR (thru Comcast) vs DvD Recorder

There's actually a fair number of pvr's w/ dvd recordability at walmart of all places. Granted they aren't as robust as a tivo but they should do a number of stations. you might have to run it like this coaxel in a splitter...one to the pvr one to the tv assign the pvr as say input one...

    Why choose Sat over cable?

I can understand the logic from both perspectives although I think that cable is trying to catch up but they never expected dbs systems to be as big as they are now. Back in the day when it was analog there was really no compairson. Digital cable (no offense to anyone) is kinda a invention...

    Anyone see feeds?

Most of what I found is the analog stations...beyond 99 it tends to be a large mix of some of the digital and the music choice material.... However I found about seven or so legit things that are interesting. Three of these seven aren't even listed as channels for the company (one took awhile...

Is satellite/cabletv/ota a decent job market?

I was thinking about this the other day. I knwo a fair amount on video here and there and would like to make more money (actually a new job would be nice) would setting up say dishes of OTA and FTA look good for some companies? (obviously I'm not going to tinker with dish, direct and cable...

    Anyone see feeds?

If have HDTV and plug the coaxel into the tv directly and scan you'll find some interesting things. Most of it is regular stuff that's unencrypted but sometimes you get something interesting. I found channels that weren't even listed!
