Thanks all for the responses. The "rain fade" seems to be gone now. I'm not sure what changed, I didn't do anything, but all seems clear now. Thanks again!

New DVR to have caller ID Just FYI... the upcoming DVR (R15) from D* is supposed to have caller ID built in. This will be the SD DVR, but I assume that the HD DVR (and HMC) - whever it comes out - will have the same features. I tried to post a URL to an article, but can't post links yet.

Yes, it's happening to me too. It does only seem to be on ESPN HD. It was happening before the launch of ESPN2 HD, be the frequency of the blackouts does seem to have increased recently. Last night during the Sunday Night Football game, it seemed to happen every 5-10 minutes. That's annoying.

Same problem, different input I've been experiencing the same problem. The blackout isn't long enough to be overtly annoying, but it's annoying nonetheless. I'm running my HR-10 through HDMI. - Mark

Just to clarify Just want to clarify that the test patterns seem to be on every Tuesday from 8:00 to 8:10am. I didn't mention the day in my previous post. You can also look at the HDNet scehdule online. (I can't post URL's yet, or I'd paset it here).

It's on from 8:00am - 8:10am I recorded the test patterns last week. I just set a manual recording from 8:00am to 8:10am. After it recorded, and was available from the Now Playing list, it was listed as the "HDNET Test Patterns" (or something like that).
