To answer your question...... Directv in CR comes from Galaxy 3C at 95W, not 119,101 or 110. Your US receiver can get the 95w signal with the local ku dish, but can not process it, it needs a different authorization I guess. Backup... Does DISH have a backup uplink....???? and if they do, why not use it....???? Now days is just a matter of flipping a switch, at least were I work.... I understand bad weather but it has happened to many times already to not have a backup plan. Just wondering :)

Hey man....Yo soy tico tambien.....if you can get a 10 ft dish up you can get Teletica on PAS3 or with a 6ft dish you can get Repretel (canal 11 and sometimes canal 6 ). My understanding is that Teletica is open right now but I am sure that will change soon....... DMC in Dallas, Georgia.:cool:
