    Galaxy12 moving to 129.

If Intelsat can't command the G15 spacecraft, it will interfere with AMC-11, which operates on the same frequencies. It's more than a simple "hot swap" of customers. If you can't command the spacecraft, you can't turn off transponders after bifurcating with G12. You can't get it to a...

What's happening with the Sat Launch?

ILS is no longer based in the U.S. They'll work with Khrunichev to figure out why the 2nd burn ended 130 seconds too soon. As to what to do with AMC-14, the decision is up to SES Americom and Lockheed Martin. The satellite's in good shape, in a safe orbit and full of fuel. Charlie and his...

Lost Signal on 129 and 119

Sun outages are not to blame here, which occur around the equinoxes. Different times/dates for each satellite depending on location. 61.5, 110 and 119 cannot be affected simultaneously. Must have been a problem in Cheyenne.

    AMC-16 to pause at 113º and 97º for E*

AMC-16 will stop at those orbital locations to satisfy an F.C.C. requirement for EchoStar: bringing the slot into use, thereby preserving their license. Providing service, even "testing," is enough to ensure they retain rights to those two slots in the Ka-band.

Dish Network/SES Americom was granted to moved AMC 16 to 118.75

AMC-16 is indeed an FSS bird, but it can switch between linear and circular polarization. Circular is good for integrating with DBS reception. This move is a good thing for us DISH people.

When Rene Anselmo, PanAmSat’s legendary founder, sought a way to fight the government monopoly in satellite communications in the early 1990s, he turned to cartoonist Neal Walker. Under Anselmo's direction, Walker created ads featuring a smart-mouthed, irreverent pooch named SPOT. The cartoon...
