Well interstingly enough multiple CSsRs have told me it is not necessary. I am fairly tech savvy. I like to do things on my own but I know my limits and when it is best to ask for a qualified tech and I think this is one of the situations where it is necessary

You can use a Joey 4 without the plus installed and you can access the apps. I do that.

When two stations share a broadcast frequency the Dish guide shows the guide data for the -01 channel on the -01 guide as well Dish has said in the past that they cannot fix this with the existing guide technology
