    replacements when "moved"

ok thanks for the replies, I'd like to be clear on this before I hit ebay. I have a 510 with a UHF remote that has a black chip inserted at the bottom. the matching remotes I see on ebay are mostly blue chipped (I don’t see any black) and are listed as being for the 522. But they are...

    replacements when "moved"

holy crap wow those are cheap. i never thought to look. so what's the deal with the color coded key at the bottom of the remote? does it actually do anything or is it simply a label in case you have multiple receivers.

    replacements when "moved"

Thought I'd check here for everyone’s experiences. need to replace remote via the warranty .... but I'm "moved". Is it better to call and move back; call again to replace equipment; then move back? Or will they ship replacement to the billing address? and if they say they will, will...

    ESPN Cubs Blackout

this is in fact a stupid MLB policy. If you live in a zip code claimed by the cubs you would be blacked out from ESPN because the game is on WCIU in chicago. MLB doesn't take into account whether you can actually get WCIU or not... it's all in the zip code. So people outside of chicago, but...

    DVR510 recordings disappear.

I've got the reboot when playing a recording problem as well. Haven't lost any recordings yet. I keep hoping a new software release will fix it.. still waiting.

and again yet another 'moving' question

makes you wonder if the Chicago big 4 SD and HD are still on a conus beam for a reason.... I know I appreciate it.

INDEMAND will carry MLB EI? No so fast says MLB... How about E*?

as soon as my contract is up.. or as soon as chicago locals go on spot beam.. I'm gone. I'm a sports fan, and now I know I need to go elsewhere to scratch that itch. too bad D* doesnt offer porn on a monthly basis like Dish.. they still have that advantage :)

IN Demand Reaches MLB EI Agreement

i would maybe say.. they need to get the same deal InDemand got.. it was good enough for them to agree to it.

IN Demand Reaches MLB EI Agreement

INDEMAND will carry MLB EI? No so fast says MLB... How about E*?

I just called to resolve my problem a different way.. I noticed the very first thing on the phone menu is now.. calling about EI, press 1, everything else, press 2. going with 1 sends you to a CSR... I didnt follow up because of my other business. anyone know if they have anything new to...

INDEMAND will carry MLB EI? No so fast says MLB... How about E*?

Oh I wish that were true. I have no faith in Congress to actually follow up. Somewhere, quietly, campaign contributions will be made.

    $200 deposit for no SSN

It is my understanding that it is illegal for a US company to *require* a SSN. They can ask for it, but supposedly cannot deny you service if you refuse to provide it. I never give out my SSN to anyone. So far I have never been denied anything, although I have had to argue the point on...

New MLB Blackout Restrictions on RSN's?

I heard the following from a friend in central Illinois: In most of central Illinois NE of Springfield, the sat companies mark comcast sports net chicago as the RSN. However... the fan split in the area is really more 50-50... so some cable companies in the area (champaign-urbana is one...

ah cool, ok.. we'll the other person would know I used it.. so I'd have warning if he wanted to sign up. Of course as far as anyone else would know.. he didnt know... plausible denial.

and again yet another 'moving' question

ok... which is a better/worse idea: using a totally fake address or using a real address of someone you know who is not a Dish sub and with that, I think i have exhasuted every stoopid little question I could possibly have on the subject.

and again yet another 'moving' question

yah SD for now.... if SD went to spot beam and HD stayed CONUS, I'd have a reason to talk the wife into an upgrade ! I'd just go OTA with a newer reciever if it came down to that. It's the chicago sports net I am really after....

and again yet another 'moving' question

Thanks for the quick replies... as a followup (put here in an attempt to save another redundant thread), looking at the Dish channel/sat chart, am I correct that the big 4 networks non-HD for Chicago are on national beams? ( i'm outside their spot beam, and can live with only having the big...

and again yet another 'moving' question

if I "move" and my receiver dies can I "move" back to my billing address to swap equipment.. then "move" the service address again post-swap or does this throw a red flag? I'd like to 'move' but i've had such bad luck with quality of receivers that I hesitate to buy them on my own.. i have...

    DirecTV-only MLB package?

I have Dish but there's a leftover, unused DirecTV Dish on my roof. What would be the minimum programming requirement with DirecTV to get MLB.. could one get that and nothing else ? hmm actually this is the wrong forum for that question, isn't it? but it's relevant to the thread.

    install scheduling question

I would like to follow up by saying that TTS was correct. My locals (at the place I have yet to move from) are still available on their actual assigned channel numbers (in the 7000's in my case) I will admit I was stupid not to look for them there... I didn’t notice them because I always use...
