I have to say that I find this quite disturbing, especially when they don't have the HR20 available. What about us poor saps who have an HR10 but don't want to upgrade until the HR20 arrives? Are we left out in the cold?

So, how will that work when DirecTV/Intel release their pc-based solution? Will I now have to rent my pc? ;)

That is the big issue for me too: no Fox Sports Net Bay Area in HD via satellite. Zero incentive to upgrade.

Ouch, that hurts. Only ABC, CBS, NCB and Fox? If that is the case, the proposition for the upgrade is substantially less interesting. PBS is important to me (its politics aside, its programming in HD is great) but more importantly, what about Fox Sports Net for SF Giants in HD? How soon will...

Thanks for the reply and I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier. I am aware of the LA locals availability and I take advantage of it. It is unfortunate that I might lose that functionality in the coming days when SF locals are activated. I might delay upgrading if I knew how soon the MPEG4 HD DVR...
