MLB to take action to reduce TV blackouts

I'm so sick of MLB and their Blackouts. I live in the Indians and Pirates territory (Zip 16727) and I for the life of me don't understand why the Mets/Phillies were blacked out on Wednesday on ESPN2 and now today the Cubs/Phillies is blacked out on TBS. I'm trying my best not to swear but this...

    ESPN Blackout of MLB Games

I feel your pain my friend, I live in Bradford PA and ran into the same problem last year. Just tuned to ESPN2 and I see we have the same problem this year. The ESPN blackout is totally controlled by ESPN and MLB. I talked to David Montgomery with the Phillie's last year and he claims they...

Blackout Question for the Upcoming MLB season

I'm going to bet you'll get the Indians games this year if you're receiving STO now. I checked my Zip on D* website which now has the Indians listed for my Zip and the STO site says the Indians games will be broadcast in the entire Indians territory on Directv and Dish.

Blackout Question for the Upcoming MLB season

They are part of the RTN network. The local affliate is owned by Granite Broadcasting who also own the local ABC affiliate. Don't remember the URL but it appears that the RTN network is planning a pretty impressive expansion this year, mostly in HD.

Blackout Question for the Upcoming MLB season

WNGS is a lower power station located half-way between Bradford PA and Buffalo NY with their main directional pattern aimed at Buffalo, so antenna not an option. I realize that D* doesn't control the blackouts, I'm very familiar with blackouts. This is just the first season that I'll be able...

Blackout Question for the Upcoming MLB season

I live in Bradford, PA and receive the Buffalo, NY locals. Directv just recently added WNGS which carries the OTA broadcast of the Indians, Mets and Yankess. Now I live in the Pirates and Indians territory, but not the Yankees or Met's. Soooooo since WNGS is a local channel for me will I get...

??? for those with Buffalo Locals

Does FOX-29 have some serious pixelation issues? They few FOX NFL games I've watched this season all seem to have a pretty lousy picture.

    Zip Code Confirmation

I think the zip code confirmation you're referring to maybe to determine what equipment is needed. Along time ago when they were rolling out the locals some locals could be picked up with the single LNB but most required an equipment upgrade (which is now pretty much the standard equipment...

    R15 Question

Woke up this AM (5:00) and noticed my R15's light ring was going around in circles and the unit wouldn't respond to the remote or front panel. Did red button reset and then 15 second unplug reset, no change. Was it processing an update? Hard drive dying? Hard drive in loop, needs...

    Blackout

Not sure if in HD...This is something that ESPN came up to get more folks "elligble" to see out of market games actually. In the past at 3:30 ABC had the one regional game in your area and ESPN had World Series of Poker at 3:30.

Are SD customers going to be left in the dark?

With the talk of the NHL Network HD going live before the SD version and every other page of the USA Today on Friday being a full page ad for HD on Directv are those of us happy with SD going to be left in the dark?

Penguins & Sabres at same time NE PA?

No Ranger's on MSG. The MSG we get as a RSN is the feed that only carries the Sabres on 627. It's not a full time feed.

Penguins & Sabres at same time NE PA?

Standalone, I live in Bradford PA and you should see all the Penguins games on FSN (628) and all broadcasted Sabres games on MSG (627, an alternate channel that they use only for the Sabres on MSG) Chris M

What gives with MLB Extra Innings?

Heck I'm 40 and remember trying to get the grass mowed and as much other stuff done on Saturday so I could watch the Phillies via antenna on Sunday afternoon!

What gives with MLB Extra Innings?

Why would MLB do that....FOX & ESPN pay HUGE amounts of money for these rights. Then FOX & ESPN passes these costs onto ALL Satellite and cable customers. Heck FOX can even pass on the costs to OTA customers (you know your local affiliate has to raise their ad rates, your favorite pizza place...
