Does Dish allow self install? I.E. just send me the receivers and I'll hook it all up?

Voom receiver works only with Voom service. DirecTv reciever works only with DirecTv service. Dish receiver works only with Dish service

Dish Network LNBs and dishes work fine with DirecTv, Voom, etc. The Multiswitches are not always compatible. Did the 500 come with two SW41 switches? Also Dish uses primarily satellites at 110 degrees and 119 degrees. DirecTv uses primarily 101 degrees with many locals at 119 and HD at 110...

I had both Voom and D* HD from March to September. Early September I canceled Voom. I found that I was watching D* (on the HD Tivo) 95%+ of the time. Voom was mostly for channel surfing since I found it difficult to watch a whole movie or program and get interrupted with "no signal" messages...

Here is my tip. This makes my box much more stable (yes it's all relative). After the power cycle reboot. Hide away the remote for half an hour. Do not press ANY button on the remote (not even to make the initial menu go away). After the 30 minutes, then change channels and view as normal.

I purchased my own 30" dish. From the time I ordered it, I received it and installed it in about 5 days. Total cost with shipping was about $70. ($30 for dish and $40 for shipping).
