    Sound loss on 722

I am having about 0.1 second sound dropouts randomly on my 722 with this software lately on most program material. I gather from this thread there's nothing wrong with my receiver. Same old two steps forward and one back ( or vice-verse ) with the software.

722K with OTA Module locking up

An OTA signal that is dropping in and out presents challenges to the decoding. It is this that is crashing the operating system and causing the lockups. It's the software.

722K with OTA Module locking up

Several years ago when viewing OTA with a 722, when signals got weak and intermittently dropped out, the software would crash as described here. The unit would usually automatically re-boot within a few minutes. It went away after a while probably with new software. You all should complain to...

Will adding a Hi speed 1.4 HDMI cable on a Vip722 help

The video and audio do not get out of sync with long HDMI cable runs. If the picture looks alright, it is alright and there are no subtle degradations. There are only two applications where the cable is important: in old NTSC composite video where low bandwidth can degrade resolution and in long...

Will adding a Hi speed 1.4 HDMI cable on a Vip722 help

Digital signals either work properly or don't work at all. OTA signals illustrate this when signals get weak, pixel-ate and drop out. You do not see visual degradation like with analog video or a weak, snowy RF analog signal. Cheaper is better.

    Broadband problem VIP 722

A dish second level tech service person mentioned 1st quarter 2012 repair. They gave me 3 PPV coupons. My 722 is actually acting better now. It is not erasing rentals overnight like it was doing.

Dish says they hope to get it fixed in the first quarter of 2012.

Why can't dish use RG6 output with HD

RG 59 in-house would carry ATSC signals on VHF-UHF channels fine.

Best way to combine OTA and TV2 RF?

I think the visible video ringing is not due to RF impedance mismatch as the splitters and combiners are not that bad. I think it's in the RF modulation circuits of the 722.

Dish receivers not compatible with OTA station - how to resolve? (WHUT-DT Wash DC)

It sounds like this station is playing catchup. In the first year or so of OTA ATSC, a lot of stations had data stream troubles that they weren't away of since there weren't many OTA customers. I had a lot of e-mail and phone correspondence with a couple of them. All were resolved by changes at...

"Sorry for the interruption" on locals

Spot transponder 15 on 61.5 has been weak for months in S.W. Florida, averaging 27. It had been 9 to 15 until there were many complaints. This is the HD local transponder. Other transponders on 61.5 are in the 40's and 50's. We are on the edge of the spot beam. I wonder if this satellite is...

    LNB Drift

My reading of e-12 has been around a long time. My 722 was just replaced Fri. and the reading remains stable even after a lot of hard resets with old and new receivers. This is on a single LNB dish aimed at 61.5. We have had a low SS reading in my town in SW FL on our HD local spot beam 9 ...

South East PA 61.5 TP15 E03 Signal Levels Please

Signal strength for spot beam 9, transponder 15 on 61.5 for south central Florida increased today from 10 to 24 in Marco Is., FL. I guess they moved something. Still a little low for summertime shower punch through.

South East PA 61.5 TP15 E03 Signal Levels Please

It looks like they're using about 16 spot beams on 8 transponders for about 63 markets on Echostar 12 at 61.5.

South East PA 61.5 TP15 E03 Signal Levels Please

Where is the info about tilting the 61.5 satellite to the northeast? We are having a problem with low signal in Marco Is. FL with 61.5 transponder 15, Spot beam 9 which has our HD locals. If they tilted it NE and didn't re-aim our beam, we may be almost out of the footprint. Dish says nothings...

My VIP 722 has been crashing since...

My 722 has been crashing (frozen screen unresponsive) about once a week for a month. New units will not fix this nor will reboots. They have to fix the software. It's always 2 steps forward, one (or two) steps back with this company. I would go with D if I thought they were any better but I...

    61.5 low signal transponder 15S

If you mean by "movers", people who adjust the dish themselves; yes, I am. I had Dish on a sailboat for some years and adjusted it when we moved. The mount tracked in azimuth but you had to manually adjust elevation and electrically find azimuth everytime you moved the boat much. At home I have...

    61.5 low signal transponder 15S

My Ft. Myers HD locals intermittently pixelate due to a 8-15 signal level on spot transponder 15 in SW Florida. All other tps. are high 30's to 50's. Another subscriber a few miles away has exactly the same problems. He is on the complete eastern arc at 61.5/72.7/77 and I am still on...

    Overscan problems

You probably don't have a TV aspect ratio problem. I didn't think the DLPs overscanned at all. I have a 2004 Mitsubishi 65" rear projection CRT and it has a lot of overscan and I haven't bothered to try to find the adjustment. It's probably an internal one. The "crawls" used to have some space...
