Audit teams I had a friend who when the audit team called, his wife or child answered the phone and told them Dad wasn't there and they would need to call back. He would get the box back from the cabin in the next week and call them back with the numbers. I think he did this a couple of times.

Upgrades When I upgraded, I had the option to send in and receive a small credit or keep the receivers I owned. I was able to sell them for more than Dish was offering - something like $15 - 20/ unit so I did not turn them in to Dish.

India? I asked why when I was on the phone and they told me I didn't need a DTVPal since the Dish receiver did the same thing. I suspect Dish did not want to be accused of selling devices to their customers that they did not need.

Upgrade They called me last Monday and I installed the new unit Saturday. No cost to me and no mention of new 24 month commitment.

Second 622 I was succesful in getting two 622's with the Dishin' It Up by contacting ceo@echostar. The regular CSR would only allow a 622 and a 211. A helpful rep by the name of Mark Duffy at ceo assisted me in getting two 622's instead.

I agree with JoLard. I didn't notice until Sunday and checked here in Dish forum and saw no sticky note re free HBO. I thought one of my teenagers had hit the select buttoms during one of the HBO ads. :eek:

That is interesting. Why would Direct put their top line ,ie HDTV, channels on a transponder with higher rain fade issues? Is Ku not available or take more power? Edit Now I'm really confused. On a Superdish thread it was stated that Ku has the rain fade issues. :confused:

Extreme Tech You might want to go Extreme Tech put out by PC magazine on the internet. They have had several articles re HDTV, including all the tech stuff you would want to know and did a series of article on buying an HDTV last year. Just search on HDTV.
