Laila...I think I solved the problem...found one sat cable input was fraying at the connector...switched it out and so far so good. To answer your ? it appeared to be effecting all of the channels, which makes sense.

Is it correct to say that all of the HD channels on 72.7 are mpeg4? What about the HD channels on 129 ... mpeg2, 4, mix? With the addition of the HD feed of Aljazera how many more HD signals can be added? I thought 129 was maxing out.

What are these channels? They're listed NYAD and EVG 1-4..."type 86" Sat 118.7

In my perfect tv world you'd be able to get Birmingham if you wanted it, but you'd also be able to opt for NY, Chicago, etc. If "locals" want your business fine, but if they're not willing to fork out the $$$ to get that signal to you...tough darts.

RE #134 - Is Claude coming out with a box for $50 where we can pick up any market we want.

I agree with ejb...local DMA should be limited to what one can receive with rabbit ears.. 30-40 miles max. If locals want a larger market let them spend the $$$ to erect relay towers that guarantee a steady signal. No...they don't want to have to spend any $$$ just rake it in.

SUCCESS finally! Almost a 3rd day of not showing any signal even from sats I knew were in target. I followed Garys suggestion of unplugging the dish from the receiver and running a check switch. That didn't change anything, at least in this case. Finally, I disconnected 3 of the 4 outputs from...

As far as the dish...I'm using a Dish 24" dish...single lnb.

Boba...using a 211 and trying to hit 72.7....trees are growing in the line of 129 so I'm planning ahead.

Using the take the receiver & tv up next to the dish. I take the line running from the 44 switch to the 129...disconnect the 129 dish and run the line to another dedicated dish. I thought if I did 611 and used 129 as the satellite I'd be able to seek or hunt for a 72.7 signal. But NO luck...

Cee...perhaps it's DirecTV's covert way telling us to upgrade!

Jimbo, reception is fine...they're just locking up when you try and check the signal levels.

Jimbo, no other boxes...these were original install...2007 I think. I can't get a signal reading...soon as I try I get the screenshot and that's all she wrote! The only thing that's changed is not being to check the signal levels.
