    Blue button remote

Or you could make a very simple "cheat sheet" card for her. Perhaps a 4x6 size. Using Word/Powerpoint/whatever write out simple operating instructions using large pictures/icons of which buttons to push and in what order to push them. Find a nice pic of her remote from dishnetwork.com/online...

    First Rumor of 2009 - 922 Screenshot?

@LASooner - thanks for blowing up the remote. I agree that the remote design is rather lame. But I like the idea of a touchPAD on the remote, if it is, in fact, a touchPAD. However, from what I can tell from the grainy pic, there appears be navigation bars on the "touchPAD". This would...

    Anybody getting Cincinnati Locals

I just checked the DISH website and pulled up the local channel listing for Cincinnati. There are now three local HD channels listed. CINCINNATI ABC - WCPO IN HD - 5160 CINCINNATI FOX - WXIX IN HD - 5163 CINCINNATI NBC - WLWT IN HD - 5162 Can someone definitively, positively, authoritatively...

622- Episode#/Orig Date is Dark Blue Font

When I go to the info screeen on any show, the info screen (the semi-transparent one) has the Episode # and Original Air Date in the dark blue font only (the font shadow??) instead of white, which makes it difficult to read. The rest of the info screen looks normal and is perfectly readable...

Satellite vs. Blu-ray: DISHing up 1080p

Has anyone tried that NetFlix box they are trying to sell for $100 that downloads the movies instead? I imagine those aren't in HD are they?

Dish Network Logo On TV Screen

Right..You know the little red light on your DVD/amp/computer/whatever that you see whenever you turn it "off" (but it's really in standby)? Think of the DISH logo on your screen as kind of a fancy, high tech version of the little red light. Speaking of little red lights, have you ever...

Can't get 1080p on my 1080p set. What gives?

At the risk of getting lost in a long thread, I have a question. I bought a 61" Mit DLP a couple years ago. I knew it only went up to 1080i when I purchased it, but I was ok with it. I was actually surprised to read in the manual a few days later that it can actually DISPLAY 1080p, but the...

My Own Olympic Channel Guide (if anyone cares)

I made my own handy channel guide for the olympics to help my wife figure out which channels were showing olympic coverage and when. I figured some of you might find it useful as well. I made this for my own purposes, so the local NBC channel is for Cincinnati (which I need OTA to get HD...

A Dish Network Olympics Channel Guide

hey Dish, gonna put your HD channels in some sort of order?

Dave, turn on the Locks feature and manually go through and select the "duplicates" or channels you don't want. For instance, I will block CNN SD (200) and keep CNN HD 200. I keep all the 9000s HD channels unlocked. Also, it is nice to block all the crap channels like all the BTV Channels...

    LNB Drift Service

Wow. You learn something new everyday. I always figured the LNB drift was referring to the dish physically moving from wind, etc "The dish is drifting from it's original locked position". Who'da thunk it was referring to faulty equipment... OK I have a couple of LNB Drift 101 questions...

Will Recordings on USB Drive work on replacement 622?

Got it. thanks. Even though this wasn't a particularly tough question, I still think SatGuys forum is freaking awesome. I've been a casual member of this forum for about 5 years (different IDs), and I still am impressed with how knowledgeable and helpful everyone is (despite the plumpy dose...

Will Recordings on USB Drive work on replacement 622?

So in the meantime, you're saying I can take my external HDD upstairs and plug it in to one of my other receivers (same account) and watch them? My other receivers are MPEG-2 receivers. Does that matter since the external HDD shows were recorded on the 622 (MPEG-4)? Or is the MPEG-2 vs MPEG-4...

Will Recordings on USB Drive work on replacement 622?

My 622's internal hard drive bit the dust and DISH is sending me a replacement 622. I realize my DVR recordings on the 622 are gone, but what about my external USB drive? From what I understand, when you try to hook up the external drive to another DISH receiver, you have to reformat it if you...

    Fox News HD May 1st

At least the crappy propaganda news will be HD crappy propaganda news. It's better than nothing. I'd rather be brainwashed looking at a nicer picture than a lower rez picture. But I really can't complain about the let-me-take-a-long-shower-with-lots-of-soap material that FNC has. As soon as...

What features from Tivo would you like added to your E* box?

I've never used TIVO. But here are a few things I would like to see. I realize these are nit-picky things that most may not care about. 1) Sat/Transponder info on the info screen (when hitting info on a TV show). 2) Designate a button or two on the remote that can be user-programmed for...

    Team Summit: General Assembly Notes

ANYONE, regardless of their location, can subscribe to ALL the RSN Channels (for an extra monthly charge, of course). So in this sense, they are certainly "national" channels, even though the channels might be named with a "local" name, such as "Fox Sports Detroit", etc. Even though you...

How to get a wing dish installed for free

See excel file. About a month ago, I dumped all the 61.5/129 sat info from "the other DISH enthusiast site" into Excel and arranged the data in a way that was easier for me to see the differences. I took out a lot of BS crap I didn't care about, like all the locals. I did this only for my own...

For those who would like to Track AMC14

I have done my analysis, and here is what I decree on this matter: The owners of the AMC-14 telecommunications satellite that was placed into a bad orbit March 15 during the launch of a Proton-M rocket are likely to decide by early April a strategy for getting the spacecraft to its intended...

I've read through most all of these posts and I haven't clicked on any of the links yet (I'm so excited). I'll check it out now and let you know the REAL scoop. Oh, and I don't know jack about orbital inclinations or apogees or geosychronistic orbits. But I'll come back with a definitive...

Dish Network® Outlines Upcoming Hd Launch Schedule

Screw Cleveland, Indianapolis, Norfolk, Walla Walla, Buffalo, and whoever else doesn't have local HDs. All I care about is MY Cincinnati locals. I know everybody wants to see Cincy's local HDs up before everyone else's. I'm sure it's a national priority. Once they fire up the Cincy local...

Does 722 S-Video output HD signal to tv?

I don't think firewire can carry video signals (like PAL, NTSC). It only transmits data packets for streaming, like Ethernet and USB.

Does 722 S-Video output HD signal to tv?

Actually, upon reflection I might be a little off about the analog vs. digital thing (i.e. not sure if RGB component can carry analog or not). That's really not the issue. It has to do more with the lines of resolution capacity with each type of jack. HD is 720 lines of resolution or better...

Does 722 S-Video output HD signal to tv?

If you need a 3rd opinion....HDMI and component (3 jacks-R,G,B) are the ONLY ways to get HD...PERIOD (it's not a just DISH/receiver thing). S-video, and composite (yellow jack) is old technology and only transmits analog video signals, whereas HD signals are digital signals.
