the new dish got here the other day. I hooked it up and in about 5 min had a 98% signal on most all transponders. It was either the old LNBs or the mismatched parts that made up the dishes... the one out of the box works, well like new. thanks for the help!

I was tinkering with this old dish this eve... I got a question. the elevation marks on it cant be right, if you crank it to 38 degrees it isnt very far off from aiming right into the adjacent hillside. looking at my dish next door, at 38 degrees its tilted up way farther than the primestar...

well the skew and elevation and azmuth for a 3 lnb setup gets me no signal. the only way i can get a signal is to put one lnb in the center lnb slot and set 38.7 elevation and 219 az. and pop! I get a signal, but it cant be fine tuned in. I think the whole problem is that I am using a 3 lnb...

that part I grasp... more or less. where I live I can hit 101 by setting the dish 38.2 elevation and 219.7 azimuth, with no tilt. so like I said it should be an easy hit to find all things being equal. until the basics ain't on 101, I wont need to tilt... but this is all good to know...

ok, stupid question#2 if you have a 3 lnb dish, and you point it at 101 [sitting 90 degrees tilt] with all 3 lnb units hooked together with splitters, so you got all 3 working like one wide lnb.... will it give you a better picture/higher signal? or is this just wishful thinking....
