Currently I have an 811 with Dish network hd subscription and would like to replace it with a VIP222, probalby purchasing one off eBay or something. How exactly would I go about activating the receiver? I can't just swap the cards? Do I have to call Dish tech support to get them to do it?

well it was fun while it lasted.. in the end though, it seems HD was not able to convince customers over the lack of Locals, RSNs, PPV, DVR, etc.. good thing i kept my D* equipment I suppose.

very cool.. they just need to negotiate some SoCal Fox Sports Networks. It would be nice if the Fox Movie Channel was like Universal HD but somehow I get the feeling it will be SD only for now.

plenty of fox's stations are hd-ready, and some even already broadcast in 720p, but the source material they are receiving from fox networks is most likely still only ED

i think it may have something to do with the improper setup of cameras during the events, perhaps some cameras are out of focus or for whatever reason not producing a quality image. i think this was the case during the olympics opening ceremonies when it seemed to me that one of the closeup hd...
