    Finding s2 and t2.

I defn agree, pcie/usb & linux is an incredibly powerful tool, but its not easy to get started in and is a steep learning curve. Id recommend a receiver as well and there are lots of incredibly knowledgable people here that can help with that. UDL

    Finding s2 and t2.

I don't know anything about that receiver. I don't use receivers, I only use computer tuners with Linux so I'm not the best to give advice about receivers. I'm sure someone else here could though UDL

    Finding s2 and t2.

Direct TV uses different frequencies and polarization. The dish and lnb won't work for fta I don't know the receiver so I can't comment on it. DVB-T2 is a European standard and isn't used in North America UDL

    PID & Frequency

the PPID (PCR PID) is usually the VPID (video pid) but not always. these pids should be filled in when you scan, so once the scan is done it shouldnt ever need to be redone again (unless things changed) when you select a channel to watch you are selecting prescaned apid, vpid etc. now usually a...

TBS 6528 - New purchase - Help me do some testing.

99w ku has ALOT of ACM/VCM, also ALOT of 16 and 32apsk. no DVB-S2x though I dont believe the 6528 supports ACM/VCM though, Im also under the impression that it only supports 16/32apsk in DVB-S2x not DVB-S2 but my box with it installed is currently offline so I cant confirm...

    OTHER TBS 5925 Sensitivity

The TBS 5925 is quite different then the S960. Very different tuner and demod. They do have different capabilities. ACM/vcm is the obvious one. Blind scan is different. The 5925 has a way better spectrum scan and supports iq plots. Either way you can't say they do the same job. On the pcie note...

New TBS Card. Need Help! Any Linux Experts Out There?

Getting things into the mainline kernel isn't easy. It takes a lot of time. More then I've got :( so I just use a bitbucket repository, it's free and takes only a second, literally, to maintain. Others and myself are working very hard to get the state of Linux FTA and ATSC as good as windows...

New TBS Card. Need Help! Any Linux Experts Out There?

If you are looking for a great card that supports everything up to ACM/vcm and only in some cases then I'd highly recommend the TBS 5980, USB, supported my TBS drivers and mine. Or the skystar 2 express hd, pcie, supported by my drivers. Neither are supported by the mainline kernel. They are...

    In-Line Cable amplifier

Honestly I've used one inline amp before. It was on an 800ft run. And voltage drop was an even bigger issue. Had to use a powered amp and a band stacked lnb. At home I'm running around 50ft and use a powered spaun multi switch. It handles the voltage for me :) works great for orthomode lnbs...

New TBS Card. Need Help! Any Linux Experts Out There?

Virtual box can use USB tuners, but not PCI or pcie cards. In Linux I use qemu to share pcie and PCI cards with the guest. You need to have a motherboard and CPU that support it though. So doesn't really help you. Not sure if there is a way to run a windows host and Linux guest and share a pcie...

The 6922 will do good for an htpc setup. If you're looking to do feed hunting and more advanced things with your card there are imo better cards out there. OTHER Why can't a upgradeble STB be built

Yes that's true. Lots of people are doing it already too, just no businesses selling an already finished product. An rpi2 is about $40 and a TBS 5980 is about $80. There you have a great setup. UDL
