    World's Biggest...Muscle Car? (^-^)

The Big Bird T-bird has the short rear deck, long hood proportions that are associated with muscle cars. Later Thunderbirds were too sedan like in shape. Put a blower and some Cragars on that large T-bird and it might make it. Swap the 460's cast iron take manifold for an aluminum unit and you...

    Who killed the Cimarron? (^-^)

Looking at this comparison report with the BMW 325e and the Mercedes 190E, the little Caddy comes out not too bad. Even 30 years ago the German car buyer would never have considered a Caddy, regardless of how good it was. Originally conceived as a BMW 320i & Audi 4000 import fighter, on basic...

    Best musclecars?

Yes, Studebaker had some hot, and barely streetable, small block engine options for the Lark in the mid '60s. Studebaker people hoped and did some designs for a revised 1967 Lark, but the car business was sadly shut down before that could happen. Production finished in Canada I think.

    Best musclecars?

It ain't domestic, but as the only street legal car capable of 12s and sub 5 second 0-60 mph in 1975, the Porsche 911 Turbo was quite something. Porsche 911

    DVD and VHS collection treasures?

One really special gem is Used Cars (1980) starring Kurt Russell. Columbia made the mistake of releasing it too close to Flying High (Leslie Nielsen). Everyone went to see Flying High and overlooked Used Cars. The few people that did see it, like myself, loved it! Used Cars Trailer...

'70s rides, decade of disaster or delight?

Maybe that should be Afternoon Delight, if anyone can remember that popular Starline Vocal band song? Lol. Cars from that time can get a bad wrap, but there were some worthwhile things from those days like GM's radial tuned suspension (RTS) and ESC ignition, and some interesting rides. What...

    Loss of US brands :(

Van Nuys also used to be a place where car customizing was busy in the '70s, remember the CGE (Carl Green Enterprises) AMC Pacer pickup truck? That came from Van Nuys. And of course there were a number of little supply companies that supported the customizers. They were industrious times. Now I...

    Loss of US brands :(

Ha, ha, the only place I thought they were still using wood to make cars was the frame of the English handmade Morgan. Trust the Chinese to destroy the environment just that little bit more. At one time the GM F body Camaro/Firebird factory was located in Van Nuys. I am wondering what...
