    Very Strange loss of signal

I have confirmed reception here at work with a small portable tv (analog of course) and an old antenna. So it looks like the problem is on my end, so tonight I will be pulling it down to take a look and troubleshoot, still odd that the same channels, digital or analog are the only ones to go out.

    Very Strange loss of signal

This past weekend, we had a small storm and I lost my analog channel 6 and 12. Now this morning, I have lost my digital 6 (42) and 12 (31). I have a split antenna system RS VU75xr for VHF and a DB8 for UHF. I still have my other analog and digital channels and here in the Augusta area that...

    Storm took down my antennas

They are now back up and signals are now higher than ever on my local FOX, from a 25-27 to 55-57. Still not stellar, but way better than before.

    Storm took down my antennas

The wind storm on Sunday took down my antennas. Rip the screws out of the mounts. Luckily, both of my antennas survived. I am going to put them back up tonight with a much different mount system. Using 10' of mast and ground mount spike, I am going to attach the higher section to the eave of...

    Just a thought

Has anyone given any thought about that more digital stations could show up once analog is cutoff? What I mean is, could we receive more digital stations from a greater distance without analog in the way or would we not have as much skip possible.

    Put up a DB8...

Update... After a week, I went up and removed the UHF reflectors on the RS VU-75xr and then I lost my Fox station. The weather has been too crazy to put them back on. Removing them really helped the local PBS station to come in more clear, oh well. I need FOX back in HD.

    Put up a DB8...

Well, I researched and found the DB8, so far pretty good. I wasn't able to get it as high as I wanted to though. I am now able to pick the local fox station that is about 40 miles away, only hitting 32-40 on the scale, tv locks in at 30. They are only putting out about 33kw. I am now having...

May have landed a large P* Dish...

I haven't gotten the dish yet have been able to measure it, it is 40"x 43". Rather large, but it came from a former retailer that is having some roof work done. The mount on it is about 3"-4" in diameter. Is there a Ku motor that will fit, or would this be better as a stationary dish? I...

how to watch satellite on pc

The OP was not using a satellite card to view, he was using a TV card, which basically adds a TV tuner to his PC. This in itself is not hacking...this is turning his PC into a TV and that is all.

    DishNetwork Prepaid System.

I think, from what I have read, is that the receivers will only be used for prepaid. Much like a Tracfone is only prepaid. So it may be a good deal, yet you have a receiver that is only good for a few selections of programming.

Court Orders Dish to Drop ALL Distant Networks

Copyright laws being changed, what is exactly being copyprotected? The signal or the content. And actually, not everyone in the US can throw up an antenna and get a signal. Mountains, hills and apartments kinda reduce that. If a person wants a Distant Network Signal, let them pay for it.

Court Orders Dish to Drop ALL Distant Networks

However, WSAZ in Huntington/Charleston, WV was at one time receivable in Cuba, last time I checked that is not in the DMA. The FCC cut the power when more stations came online. 700WLW can be picked up almost anywhere, and I don't think that too many advertisers care. Really you cannot control...

Court Orders Dish to Drop ALL Distant Networks

The funny thing is, most of the advertisers don't care, they will advertise on stations 100 miles away (in another DMA). How can they do this? Free enterprise. Why can't the broadcasters see this, because if I go to an Atlanta broadcaster, they will take my ad to run on their station. I can...

Court Orders Dish to Drop ALL Distant Networks

Ok, going to back to newspapers again. The copyright is held by the original publisher, either the newspaper itself or the source, hence the used by permission line. And again advertisers in newspapers want the most penetration of their ad for the dollar. Now most of these are the same people...
