Actually right now according to those stats on the tracking page, the sat is looking pretty good right now Altitude is almost perfect, however it is still moving. Location could be right because they said they would put it into a testing orbit first, anyone remember that location? Any thoughts?

Actually the needed altitude is like around 35,791 miles

Its low point was 475.36 Miles over Papa New Guinea and now its going back up again.

However the sat at 77 is broadcasting only to the southern states and would interfere with 82 as much.

Umm.... Doesn't bell have a sat at 82W so with a DBS sat at 77 that is only a 5 degree spacing and won't that conflict with the problem of having a 9 degree spacing between dbs sats...

86.5 is a regular dbs sat which may impact 91 and 82 owned by bev... echostar is complaining that spectrum just recently got 114.5 degrees for a dbs sat and may interfere with 110 and 119 but they see no harm in doing the same for bev as 9 degrees is the required spacing for dbs while it is only...

I always thought there had to be at least a 9 degree spacing between dbs sats and wont this affect bev at 91 and 82 because it places 86.5 right in between?

Looks like the big one is pointing at 77 for some reason... Pop in those coordinates at dishpointer.com and even though you can't pick 77 with 79 it looks almost perfect.

I see how that would increase signal strength however would they not have to increase the number of the symbol rate, because currently they are sending 20000 with regular qpsk and 21500 with 8psk or I am misunderstanding the entire point of symbol rates.

Seeing that they are sending up new sats for 61.5 and 129 I think it’s easy to conclude that they will be using a lot more spots beams for HD locals and CONUS signals on those satellites. Right now 129 only has about 8 Tp's dedicated to CONUS HD coverage and they could probably consolidate some...

Maybe they thought you could pick up 129 as it carries the same channels. Check http://ekb.dbstalk.com/pictures/Dish1000Exclusions.jpg and see if you are in those coloured areas. If so you better give them a call, the local contact preferably.

Back to one of my original ideas of connecting both dishes to a 4in/1out diseqc switch to the new receiver and then using the output on that box to go into the old box. Then all I would need to do is reconfigure the old box to use the diseqc switch or I am trying to do something that is not...
