    newbie question

I have a 42" plasma Model: TH-42PX75U with the built in HD tuner so I shouldn't need a seperate tuner right?

    newbie question

I do subscribe to locals and I called them and they said that it will show up on the guide if you subscribe to locals. I have a 522 reciever though so I can't record in high def unless I upgrade to a 622 or 722. I'll have to try to hook up my OTA antenna tonight to my reciever and check it...

    newbie question

Yes. I'm in the Portland, Oregon area and I could get the locals in HD if I wanted to subcribe to them.

    newbie question

That I did not know. I don't know what reciever model I have but I'm going to see if that will work because that would be a lot easier. The only HD channels I really care about the locals anyway so that would be great. So if you hook that antenna up through the reciever, would you need to pay a...

    newbie question

So please forgive my ignorance but this is all new to me. I'm not familiar with the term OTA antenna. I'm assuming it stands for "off the air" and I think its for getting hd local channels. What I'm curious about is when or why you would need one. From what I understand, if you subcribe to...

Comparing the Proposed Direct vs. Dish HD Channels

Now I'm not sure if I want to get hd yet. The bold channels are the ones I watch and only 2 are in hd right now.

    Hd offers

No. I got the $10 off per month for 10 months on my regular cable when I signed up. Gotcha

    Hd offers

Actually, the $10 off is my current promo I'm on when I signed up I will definitely give that a try. I was told that I wouldn't have to pay for the new hd dish but maybe she was wrong.

    Hd offers

Thanks drdroo. That info you provided was very helpful. I wish the dish reps were this helpful. Anyway, I'm currently on the top 100 for $29 per month plus $6 for locals and $5 for dvr totaling $41 per month before my $10 per month rebate so the $39 dvr advantage would make more sense. More...

Where do I do my homework at. Is there some sort of promo code I need or something.

    Hd offers

I thought about doing the dish and up promo a couple weeks ago when it was $10 off per month and $50 for the 622 reciever after the mail in rebate. They told me there would be a $5 per month lease fee per month that I would always pay for the reciever so I told them to forget it. I really want...

    purchasing the 622

I just called dish and they said that there is still a lease fee each month and there is no way to waive. I told her there's no way I'm going to pay $20+$6 for a total of $26 per month just for a few nicer channels. Whats the cheapest you can purchase the 622 for?

    purchasing the 622

Ya, I just found that out. I talked to someone the other day that gave me wrong info. I don't want to pay a stupid $6 per month lease on top of the ridiculous $20. Whats the cheapest way to purchase the 622. I know that radioshack and costo have it. Does anyone know how much they sell for.

    purchasing the 622

Whats the best price anyone has found for purchasing the 622? Dish said its $149 to purchase outright with them but I'm wondering if there is a cheaper price somewhere or somehow.Does anyone know if the 622 will be cheaper after aug 15 when the 722 comes out?

    Can this cost be right?

I was also thinking about doing this same deal which would add $20 per month for hd minus $10 for 10 months but with a $5.98 per month lease fee and $49 initial fee. I would need the 622 with dvr for 2 tv's. My other option would be to purchase the 622 for $149 one time fee and then I would own...
