FaxUpdate March 25, 2005: MORE DEADLINES LOOM FOR VOOM NEXT WEEK

Still doesn't sound very promising to me... :(

Breaking News: Flash From Voom Website: VOOM ceasing Operation by end of March

I knew there was no way Dolan could get financing that fast. This really sucks.

    The End of VOOM?

Good points to consider! I love NASCAR, so will also go with whomever gives me TNT-HD.

    The End of VOOM?

Thanks for the political commentary.

    The End of VOOM?

I am in exactly the same boat. And although knowing that I am not really out any money helps soften the blow, I am still very upset by this whole thing. VOOM is (was) so much better than the competition, I almost take it personally that it didn't make it. Not that this is the first time...

    The End of VOOM?

Why would someone with this type of attitude be a member here?

    The End of VOOM?

As a former 8 year subscriber to E*, I would say that he doesn't care much about E* customers either!

    The End of VOOM?

Son of a Bitch! This really sucks. VOOM kicks (kicked) E*'s ass in terms of HD content and pq. Now I have to consider going back to E*. Crap.

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

So, what if they actually do just pull the plug without Voom being sold. What happens to the satellite(s)?

Cablevision Board To Debate Voom Fate

This is horrible news if Voom actually shuts down! It is so much better than the other satellite providers. I especially love the ability to seamlessly switch between local OTA channels and the satellite channels, as well as having all the extra HD content. This is very upsetting.

    VOOM: New Channel Wish List

Are there any rumors that HDNet will be added anytime soon? Or InHD for that matter?

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring: Beginning Dec. 10th on TNT HD 8pm ET

It looked good, but would have looked even better if they didn't blow it up to 16:9. Why can't these HD stations use the OAR?

    Volume Variation

Are there any updates regarding the volume issue? This problem continues to drive me crazy. The variance in volume from certain channels to others is quite jarring!

TNT-HD: NBA Basketball : Minnesota Timberwolves at Los Angeles Lakers 9pm EST!

Great Lakers Win! :) I went on vacation last week, came back last night, turned on Voom and went to the guide looking for TNT. What do I see? TNT-HD!! Way to go VOOM! That was quick! I must say I was disappointed that one of the main cameras did not appear to be HD. This was the...

    Mtv-hd?

Well, not exactly true, because I continue to be impressed. I watched Michael McDonald and some of the Doobies in concert tonight. Another quality concert to be sure. And the PQ was as good as I have EVER seen!

    Mtv-hd?

Well, I was afraid of that. I have only had Voom for 5 days, and tonight I was really impressed with RAVE-HD since they had Counting Crows and Sheryl Crow in concert back to back! Very nice! Of course, I said to myself, there is no way they can maintain that kind of quality with new...

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

Based on the information in my work order, I was satisfied that what my installer told me about the lines was accurate. I would have been over the limit. When the VOOM DVR comes out, I will expect them to run the extra line that will be needed at no cost. Especially since I discussed this...

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

Cool. I am all hooked up and running. I get all of my local OTA stations EXCEPT UPN (channel 13 in So. Cal.). I don't know if it is worth complaining and trying to get a bigger antenna for that one station (not too much HD on UPN anyway). A few questions: The channels seem to take...

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

I asked the installer about this when trying to convince him NOT to do the diplexer. He said the exact same thing: Voom will *probably* pay to have the extra line run at that time. This is what I thought as well, but I wasn't sure. This is basically what the installer said too. The...

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

One thing I am thinking about is this: if they use the diplexer, this could weaken my signal by 2-3 db correct? Since they are using the Stealth, and I am 49 miles from the OTA stations, wouldn't this make it even more likely that the Stealth will NOT work (thereby requiring them to give me the...

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

Yep. He showed it to me voluntarily. It is 125 feet for two lines via the diplexer. Since my two TV's are so far apart, I would be way over the limit. He also brought up the fact that he could be charging me more for fishing the lines through the attic and walls (which is true- when he...

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

I am being told that I can have 4 lines up to a max of 125 feet, and I will be way beyond that with two STB's. I told him I don't want the diplexer, but he said he will have to call the office. Thanks for the quick replies!

Voom Installer Here NOW - Quick Question!!

My Voom installer is here as I type this (from Installs Inc. and he actually appears to know what he is doing). My question concerns the issue of the diplexer. I have read the VOOM FAQ, which states: "Do not let the installer intall a diplexer. A diplexer combines the antenna and...
