I only notice it while watching 1080i(CBS, NBC, HDNet, and some FSNs) broadcasts and not on 720p(ESPN, ABC, Fox, BTN)

Try turning the receiver on, then quickly pressing the guide button and selecting an OTA channel. I do this all the time with our 622 when its storming and the sat signal goes out.
