    UHF Remotes

How much are they typically (I'm assuming when you pay you get the remote plus the antenna to put on the receiver)? I've seen some places say $40 or $50, and that seems like a lot. Especially since I'm only going to be paying about $64 for two receivers, the dish, plus install....

    Remote Control Range

Hi guys. I should be getting a Dish Network setup in the coming weeks, and I was wondering what is the maximum range the remote control for the receiver is? I'm talking the basic one, not UHF or whatever it's called. Just the one that comes with the basic receiver.

    Understanding installation.

Well, it will likely be on my roof, and the cable will go down the side of the house. What I don't know is where it would enter (and how), and how it gets the receiver. Will it run to outside the room where the TV is, then inside the room? Or does it go through the basement, or what...

    Understanding installation.

Can any of you point me to a website that clearly shows how a satellite system is installed? I'm trying to understand the entire process of how the wiring is done. I know you set the dish pointing south, either on a roof or on a pole, and your receiver goes near the TV. I know wires run...

    New Question

I'm going through best buy and only want one receiver, so I'm not going for the 3-receiver deals. :) But talking with my mother about this, she pointed out that it seemed odd that a piece of equipment like the dish was just free like that, with no strings attatched.

    New Question

Went to local Best Buy, and saw the prices and such, and it looks like if I just want one receiver (change of plans since my last post), it'd be 49.99 for the recevier, which they said includes installation plus the dish itself. My question to all of you who already have DirecTV, is this it...

Also, at first I was looking at DishNetwork. But when I compared channel packages, I liked DirecTV's better. That was enough for me to want to go with them instead. It's neat that Dish can have receivers that can display two channels, but that's not really necissary in my situation. :)

Do a lot of you have this problem with rain using D*? And why would DishNetwork be better for this? I know it's different companies, but it's essentially the same technology and setup, isn't it? A dish outside, that's gonna get wet.

Thanks. I'm a newbie at this stuff, do I don't know what D* means. What does it mean? Also, can you give me an idea of what I'd have to pay for for the installation as I described it since you said that wouldn't be covered in basic installation? Also, yeah I know the 3 TVs will only be...

Hi. I'm currently using Cable TV, and want to switch to DirectTV. I'm trying to found out how things will be setup, and how much EVERYTHING will cost. We have 5 TVs in our house, and we'd like two get two receivers. One for 2 TVs, one for the other 3. Is this possible? Also, I plan...
