    DirecTV in Mexico

And sometimes reading between the lines makes you completely and utterly wrong.

    DirecTV in Mexico

Yet in his post he clearly states that he pays his bill and says nowhere that his father has a reciever.

    DirecTV in Mexico

No he's not sharing the account, he just has the bill sent to his father's house. Now if his father had the account and he was a reciever on that, THAT would be account sharing.

    Active Delayed Again

So it was supposed to launch in Feburary but then no no next month. So we're in March we wait until near the end of March, no no next month! So now we're waiting for April. Am I the only one who is thinking at the end of April we'll be hearing no no next month?

    D10 Software Upgrade???

The update will come when they launch DirecTV Active which was supposed to be sometime this month.

    Directv Active

On the existing D10's they'll be activating it with a software update, the first the D10's will have gotten. I know that's different from a firmware update but I felt it should be mentioned it :)

    D10--Why did I buy this???

Why was this moved to the DVR Forum when the OP is talking about the D10 which is a standard receiver? Unless I've totally been using mine wrong ;)

Decided on DirecTV, now what ?

I didn't get HD but I ordered directly from DirecTV.com and was very happy with the installer and the install. Only cost ~$16 w/shipping and tax.

    A look at DirecTV ACTIVE

If they're not going to be adding any new nonHD channels then I'll take the mix channels and interactive stuff.

    New Customer deals

    Mix Channel suggestions!

I think it's a snap to change around audio feeds and I have a D10.

    Mix Channel suggestions!

I like the News Mix channel the only problem I can see is that people might end up watching the mix channel and changing the audio around rather than going to CNN/Fox/MSNBC. Since then you won't 'miss' anything.

D* Plans Its Own DVR For '05

So in essence they're hinting they'll have a DVR that's less than $99 and can do on-demand? Sign me up! Although I'm curious to see what they would offer, I could see them offering some Fox programming since they already told Comcast no (well rather they told comcast they wanted them to charge...

    Additional Charge for each room???

It was annouced today that Time Warner Cincinnati would be increasing rates by about 5.5% starting in December. So the average bill will go up $2.00 Glad I'm away from them.

    Replaytv Question

The new D10's work fine with all ReplayTV's, 5504 and up have gotten a software update so they support APG serial data and the older ones can be made to work with an adapter that's about $40 (w/shipping) I believe.

DirecTV D10 Recievers are warm to touch

I think ValueElectronics.com has some older Hughes recievers which might work with more Universal Remotes since they've been around longer. That's the only problem with the D10, since it's newer not many remotes have support for it (or at least I don't know of any that do, all the remotes I have...

DirecTV D10 Recievers are warm to touch

DNNA didn't update your software but NOT ALL HOPE IS LOST! There is a guy who made an adapter where you connect your RJ11 to Serial adapter from your directv reciever to the adapter to your ReplayTV and it apparently fixes it. It should, in theory, work for you the guy sells them for $35 + $5...

DirecTV D10 Recievers are warm to touch

If you have a ReplayTV 5504 chances are it's software has been updated and now when you go and look on setup screen it will now have an option for Serial APG, if it does select that and then use the serial to RJ11 (phonejack) that came with your replay or if you're like me you can buy one from...

    ordering direct tv tomorrow

Unless you plan on getting HD within the next year or two you'll be fine with a Single LNB. You would own the equipment even though you would get it for free. Also the Cable would probably have to be ran to each room because on the back of each reciever is an Antenna input where you would...

    direct tv 5-room install

DirecTV doesn't do dual tuners(except on the DirecTivo but that's different) so each room would have its own reciever.Phonelines aren't required for any of it(provided you don't want to order PPV (but you can order PPV online) or get any sports packages) although your DirecTivo would be happier...

what's the best way to order DirecTV?

You might want to call DirecTV and see if you can negoiate a deal because they might cut you a break pricewise I've also heard a rumor that they're going to offer a $50 rebate on standard DirecTivo's this Monday so you might want to wait and see what happens with that. If you order online from...

    New Channels

I would give up GAC and whatever other country channel D* has for GSN's new West Coast feed (launching at the end of this month, I heard that it was only being offered to cable companies at the moment) and The Anime Network.

DirecTV D10 Recievers are warm to touch

I'm thinking instead of that I'll just take the easy way out and get the service plan. Much easier :)

    Directv HD lease plan

Besides it makes sense for DirecTV to offer their own brand of DVR because why should they pay Tivo for it when Rupert Murdoch and News Corp already own/control a DVR company which makes perfectlly good satellite DVRs for Sky? It just makes sense. So I wouldn't say they're trying to become...

DirecTV D10 Recievers are warm to touch

So with heat probably being an issue in your opinion do you think I should get the protection plan incase they all die again because I really don't want to pay $50 to D* and get another year if one should die.
