Lease Program Information (Cat Fight Version):

Actually, no. That was not the point of the lease discussion. We all understand that there is no monthly fee if you have only one unit. We are talking about the lease fees and the upfront lease costs and how the upfront cost plus montly plus commitment plus possible fee when the unit is returned...

Lease Program Information (Cat Fight Version):

Now this is really an honest question and I'm not trying to bait you. Why are you posting if you don't give a damn about the topic of this thread?

Lease Program Information (Cat Fight Version):

I think you missed the point. With your example the security deposit is returned at the end of the lease. A lease like a house lease for Directv equipment would be fine. I'd probably be OK with handing over $399 for an HD DVR initially if I knew I would get it back when the term ended and...

Lease Program Information (Cat Fight Version):

I guess you think you are smart then, huh? Better than everyone else here, huh? Any opinion counter to yours is idiotic then? The new lease program rules and the commitment rules for subbing new equipment are too restrictive. In years past an existing customer on a month to month plan could...

    I don't get the pricing

I thought so. You got nothing. :p

    I don't get the pricing

Prove he wont. Go ahead. Come on sport. You can do it. If you work for Directv you know. Lets see it. Post a document or something. I dare you. Double dog dare you. Don't wait to answer until the mpeg4 units come out either. Show me. Do it.

    I don't get the pricing

Sounds like they hooked you. They would not turn off your service at the end of your contract. It would go month to month. So, you are going to pay $399 now and they are going to give you a non mpeg4 HD DVR and an mpeg4 dish and then credit you $55 per month for the next three months? To be...

Information everyone must know about the Lease Program:

Definately. I predict they will also charge for the new boxes. I don't think they will swap you our for free even though this is what they used to say would happen.

Information everyone must know about the Lease Program:

Don't add or change any of your equipment. If you don't make any changes you will still own your equipment. For an existing customer to upgade to an HD DVR with the new dish the upfront "Upgrade" charge is $499. The difference is after paying the $499 you don't own it and you can't sell it...

    I don't get the pricing

Sorry to hear that. I'm extremely frustrated with the policy of a 2 year commitment when you add new boxes to your sub. I have 2 HD boxes now on a month to month plan. No commitment. If I wanted to try a new box or DVR under the new lease just to see if I like it or not I'm roped into 2 years or...

Lets start a pool on Direc's net subscribers for 3/06

I would suspect that if Directv read this post they would have you fired. This is completely unprofessional and likely violates Directv's rules for engaging customers. Take some time off and watch some TV.

    I don't get the pricing

No, I believe Newegg is acting simply as a reseller of the lease like CC or BB etc. Let us know what happens when you go to activate. Directv would likley want you to send it to them if you cancelled.

    I don't get the pricing

    No. Directv uses the cards.

    I don't get the pricing

I may be wrong, but I think you will be leasing that unit you got from NewEgg.

    Leases have started, experiences?

Yes, if it breaks directv would fix or replace it with a new or used receiver. Just keep in mind that after 4 years you would have paid $239.52 in lease fees. Also, if after 4 years there is some other reciever you want to upgrade to you can do that for an additional fee. The current upgrade fee...

    Leases have started, experiences?

I was told by the retention rep that it is possible to still buy and own equipment under the new lease policy. Instead of getting a subsidized price you pay the cost to DTV for the box. In my case I was looking at H20's and they were going to cost $250 today, but I would own them. Being that I...

Directv Going To Lease Only On 3/1/06

Not sure about that. I have always payed with automatic payment and my FICO is 800. I have no idea what my Directv credit rating or HEARTS program rating is, but I spent 30 minutes with the rep on the lease program and they told me that there is an upgrade fee of $99 for HD boxes. I'm assuming...

Directv Going To Lease Only On 3/1/06

Actually, this is not correct. If you want two new H20's you are goign to pay $99 each to "upgrade" and then pay 4.99 a month. If at any time during the two year agreement you want to upgrade of change these 2 H20's you are going to have to pay another fee.

Directv Going To Lease Only On 3/1/06

dragon002, you're a bit of a **** aren't you? Seems to me all you can do is post garbage. Maybe you ought to go watch TV and leave the dicsussion to people who are ....um....discussing and maybe adding real content.

Directv Going To Lease Only On 3/1/06

So, I just called to upgrade my two dtc-100's. I spent over 30 minutes on the phone with retention. Here is what I heard about the lease deal starting tomorrow: You can purchase and own equipment after March 1st. The price will be the cost to directv for the equipment. In my example I was...

Advice requested for Best sub renewal strategy

First post here so forgive me if this is redundant. I'd like some friendly advice on what some of the seasoned readers here might think my best strategy is for renewing a sub commitment from a functionality and cost point of view. What I have: 2 DTC-100's Total choice with locals on a...
