I did not get mine from Sat Hobby, all though it looks just like DJ Robs pic. Mine came from MXmart. I was just looking around randomly at a half a dozen or so websites, and all the ecoda 22k switches look the same...If they are clones I havn't seen anyone selling a real one.

Mine is a clone also then. The box is different than DJ Robs, but switch is the same.

How did you test, for voltage or the actual 22k tone?

It it wired Receiver---> motor---> Diseqc---> ecoda. There are four lnbs, right now. Motor on port 1, stationary on port 2, two staionarys port 3, with ecoda, I'm going to be using port 4 for another dish I haven't put up yet. The weird thing is it went bad in the middle of watching...

I just had a new Ecoda go bad after two days, it stoped switching to the 22Khz side. I know these are supposed to be good switches. Did I maybe just get a hold of a bad one?

A very small drill bit could be used, twisting it in will catch the wire and you could pull it out.

I had the same thing about a week ago with color bars on RTN east. I changed the freq. from 11735 to 11740 and it was fine.

I'm in south FL we had some nasty weather go through a few hours ago.

Thats what I did, I just manually put in a slightly higher frequncy and there they where.

Thanks, problem solved. I had them on 11735 4430 since they moved to AMC 9. Now I'm getting them on 11740 4440.....any reason that would happen?

Anyone missing RTN today? I have color bars on east and no audio or video on west.

Thanks for the replies. I plan on using this mainly for feed hunting and these two seem to get mentioned a lot, thats why I was choosing between them. I think I'll go with the merc.

I'm trying to decide between these two receivers. I've read a bit about both of them, but I'm looking for a comparison between the two. Blind scan being the most important along with picture quaility. Anyone use these two receivres, all opinions welcome, thanks.

I've got it on 30" dish Q is usually about 60 or so, I havn't gone to it in a few days and noticed it's down to about 10-12, tonight.

Anyone having trouble on 11720 I've lost all chanels quality is is down to about 10, everything else is fine.

I'm picking up cubavision, just checked.

I would say definitly go for the bigger dish. I have two 75cm dishes one stationary and one motorized, all though I get good results, some satellites and transponders are weaker than others.

That is the best tip. I just recently set up my first motor, and tried to avoid bringing a tv outside. Only because I didn't have something small to bring out, so I ended up lugging out an 27" tube out from the garage, and I'm glad I did. I was able to find my true south sat in about 5 minutes...

I'm missing everything on 11720 also. I just checked again and they are back.

I didn't mod the lnb holder at all, I used a linear lnb that fits the stock holder. I placed it in the center slot and skewed the dish. I think I was pointing way to far west yesterday, I noticed G18 and 27 art only 4 degree apart.

The dish says dtv plus, it does have a skew plate. I set the skew for my zip 33458. The elevation is 28, it just looks really low, but I guess like dishdigger said not all dishes will look the same.
