    GEOSATpro No motor control

I would agree on the new receiver. Even if I do see a loss of 22KHz, there's not much I can do about it. I can go back in and carefully look at all the SMD compnents hoping to see a problem, I'm still very limited in repair options. Now here's the rub. The receiver is tuning and scanning just...

    GEOSATpro No motor control

Voltage at box: H = 18.7 vdc V = 14.3 vdc Voltage at motor: H = 18.6 vdc V = 14.2 vdc The SAT position was reset to zero, so I reprogrammed it to 106.58W 42.67N, probably was lost when resetting the box. That stopped the error message that was not there...

Ti, Now I understand what you are saying. I will check the voltage tomorrow. Thanks.

    GEOSATpro No motor control

TI, I cracked it open and looked inside. I didn't see any fried/smoked SMD parts. How can there be 13/18 Vdc when the wall wart is 12Vdc? Is there a converter? Anyway, tried both DiSEqC1.2/USALS, no go. It can't be completly fried. I can go outside and drive the motor by pushing the slew...

    GEOSATpro No motor control

I found my old CoolSat 5000 and cleaned the cobwebs off it. Hooked it up and went into the setup. Using the motor control I was able to move the dish EAST/WEST with the buttons on the remote. So, it looks line my MicroHD has bit the dust. I'll open it up and see if I have any solder fractures...

    GEOSATpro No motor control

I can do all the above. It's dark now so I will trouble shoot tomorrow. Will look for my other receiver.

Do you happen to know if there is a fuse in the GeoSat for the motor power?

    GEOSATpro No motor control

Been away for a long time and jumping back in now that I have a problem. I have a GeoSatPro MicroHD that's been working for years and it drives a motor for my ku dish. Now, the motor just sits there. I can go outside and push a button and the motor slews one way or the other so I know the motor...

    GEOSATpro New Receiver?

It's a bigger box. Bigger is better, right? Where's the twisty knob and tuning eye for peaking the dish? ;)

When it stops snowing here and I can get my dish cleaned up, I'll be able to continue my tests... Yup, it's still snowing and we may get 12 inches before it's over.

Ok...this one is repeatable, on my microHD and the MES editor. When I export the udf file into the box, Ch-5 and Ch-6 go to black. I got this result three times in a row. I have to rescan the TP to get the video back. Here's the info: 12112/V/8703 125W Ch-6 V65/A68/P65 FEC 3/4 SID 6 When...

GEOSATpro microHD - New MediaBox Editor Studio Version is Available for Download

I've tried both editors and I have to say they both work quite well. I've done enough backups and restores from USB to feel confident in what I'm doing. I weeded out a bad USB stick from my collection and isolated one to keep plugged into the back of the box. So far, my previous errors haven't...

GEOSATpro microHD - New MediaBox Editor Studio Version is Available for Download

Only a rigorous system will weed out all bugs. I used to do software test, so I know it's not easy. I also have a friend who built massive database tables and did some data transfer tests to check reliability. He discovered some interesting problems over time...too long of a story. I'm not...

GEOSATpro microHD - New MediaBox Editor Studio Version is Available for Download

My only other concern is with the quality of the USB sticks. Is there a recommended brand of USB memory that has been tested with the box to be the most reliable? I ask this because in the past, and depending on the product, poor quality USB sticks CAN be an issue with data transfer and some...

I just remembered...I also had an incident where exporting to the box yielded two channels that went to black. Audio was there, just no picture. I quickly rescanned the channels and they came back. Again, I should keep better notes and see if it's repeatable.

Sorry, I should have stated...I had an instance where renaming favorites did not export to the box. I haven't tried yet to see if it's a repeatable problem, or if I fat fingered something. I'll have to verify that. I'm getting ready to try the other editor so I can compare. Overall, I wish it...

    GEOSATpro Universal Remote for MicroHD

I recently wore out my Harmony 300 programable remote, and so I was looking for something to replace it. Today, I took a chance on a RCA 5-Device Universal Remote (RCRP05BR) from Wally*Wurld for $15. I have to say, I'm very impressed. The darn thing works better than expected and has exceeded...

GEOSATpro I just wanted to say that the µHD rocks!

Just got mine yesterday and I have to agree it friggn' ROCKS! The only thing this box couldn't do was climb up on the shelf and hook itself up. What a breeze to operate. My family is now firmly addicted to ku FTA. For me, the MicroHD is the new benchmark and finally replaces my CS5000.

Do you accept pennies? I've been saving up a lot of them.
