Just a patent issue is my understanding. Looks like Masimo is worth about $6 Billion. Pocket change for Apple. Probably end up just licensing the tech would be my guess.

They have included a USB-C charging cable for a couple series now for fast charging. Supposed to take less then an hour. I don't use mine for sleep tracking, have a Fitbit Charge for that.

That seems reasonable, especially if your are using a faster charger over USB-C. I plug mine in every night when I go to bed so I don't really know if it heats up or how much.

My 15 Pro does not run hot. Battery life is as good as the 14 Pro was.

Short list I saw yesterday was mainly bug fixes. I don't think there were any new features listed. watchOS 10.1 is supposed to include the new double tap function for the Series 9 and Ultra 2.

Facial recognition on iPhone works just fine. Has for years. I did have trouble with an iPad Pro a couple years ago. Just didn't work for me, I think because I usually use an iPad in landscape mode so the camera was on the right side instead of the top. I ended up trading it in for the M1 iPad...

Even in a clear case the color is pretty faint.

iOS 17.0.3 has mostly fixed this issue for me. Occasionally the complication shows no data but much less then before that update.
