Red 'X' for 129 in System Info Grid

Well, its certainly not a Sun outage if it has happened in the last week. 2 weeks ago that was certainly a possibility.

splitting legacy lnbs to 4 tuners.

no....they work differently. just run the 2 feeds from 119W to the 2 units you want to work until the replacement comes in by inserting barrell connectors where the old SW64 once was. Remember to run a check switch after you do it as well. I have no direct information concerning this...

INDEMAND will carry MLB EI? No so fast says MLB... How about E*?

Considering the Cox Cable San Diego action yesterday - and Cox is a major player with inDemand - it shows they know this is not a match. It also explains why another cable head was upset at Cox's action yesterday - as telegraphs what is going on. However, instead of playing games, Cox was...

INDEMAND will carry MLB EI? No so fast says MLB... How about E*?

There is no requirement for cable to be all digital in Feb 2009. As Greg noted, this is a carefully crafted response so they can put it back on D* and MLB when it is rejected - just as MLB and D* attempted to shift the blame to cable with their "match" provision.

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

Sure there is.....and there is a man in the moon.....and NASA is investigating it....will you hang the phone up now so we deal with other issues that are real?

lol...then you must believe nothing on this entire website  I've already ripped your fact wanting ass to shreds with facts in the other http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?p=845728#post845728 thread and won't spend more time on you because you live in some fantasy land full...

What's up with all the Movie Channels?

Count your blessings. According to the STARZ Press Release for April 2007, 59 HD Movies are listed (The Waterboy is not) .... yet, 10-12 either (1) do not show up on the April PDF Schedule or (2) are holdovers that started in the last 10 days of March or actually in the first week of May...

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

So you switch off the channel with the 448Kbps audio bitrate to a 384kbps audio bitrate and its fixed...hmmmmm I have never had an audio issue with TNT-HD after the first 90 days of its launch - and again - that was because the cable system had not properly dealt with its higher audio...

So is E* just going to hold out until Mar. 31 to announce not carrying MLB EI?

Absolutely they have.....they must pay the same thing as D*, carry the MLB channel and do not get the 20% ownership that D* gets.

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

And especially the idiots who want to know the answer and then refuse to listen.... like the one who said the first 3 Seasons of 24 shot in 16:9 Widescreen could not be and should be shown in the original 4:3 instead. or the one who said that A&E wasn't a real HD channel - but now is...

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

Again, they ORDER THE FILM TRANSFERS CROPPED, NOT 2.35:1 OAR - what is so hard to understand about that? GEEZ. TWC POLICY IS TO FILL THE SCREEN ON MOVIES IF AT ALL POSSIBLE.

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

lol...too bad I have no delay on TNT-HD from 4 sources with proper audio decoding equipment. Too bad you don't understand that higher bitrates take more processing to decode and marginal audio decoders clearly need constant rebooting to stay up to par. You clearly don't understand the fill...

So is E* just going to hold out until Mar. 31 to announce not carrying MLB EI?

E* used to offer the HD Package as a standalone. They quietly last June with no fanfare they did away with that package with no notification to their subscribers. I would gladly get rid of the AT Package at this point and go back to HD Only given the choice - but its not there - which has me...

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

You have problems with TNT because its a higher bitrate audio than the other channels and your audio chain is designed for the lower audio bitrate and works harder on the higher audio bitrate - thus your delay. And wtf are you talking about stretching. If TNT stretches, it will stretch on...

So is E* just going to hold out until Mar. 31 to announce not carrying MLB EI?

"E*" and "courtesy to its subscribers". There are 2 terms you don't hear together.

Charlie Chat Recap March 12, 2007

In all due respect, when one looks at the loss for D* in 2004 and realizes it is because of Non-recurring expenses of $1.6B which is more money than the Gross Profit - not to mention accounting changes mandated by the SEC after Enron, Worldcomm and all the rest, that is really comparing apples...

So is E* just going to hold out until Mar. 31 to announce not carrying MLB EI?

You assume that E* is GOING TO MAKE AN ANNOUNCEMENT of not carrying MLB EI. That in itself is bad publicity - for all E* subs. By just not carrying it and no public announcement, only the few subs that carried about it will ever know. Why make a big announcement for something you are...

My email to TNT about TNT HD lack of quality

Its E*. No issues via cable and I have seen this via E* 18 months ago when it looked fine. As for the audio delay, its in the OPs audio platform where his 5.1 system is lagging. If people have yet to figure out that Time Warner owns HBO/Cinemax and TNT - and still cannot figure out why...

Is Dish adding CW and MYTV HD channels anytime soon?

No rumors to it.....and since it was only 2 hours a night - and not even 7 days a week - wasn't like it was a HD Paradise - but at least half of the HD Programming is gone.

Do you want the Chiller Channel?

NBC Universal already killed the bitrate on UniversalHD to put Chiller SD up for distribution in their mux. Considering we know what NBC thinks belongs as a "Chiller" Movie and seeing the small number of titles on UniversalHD they will actually pull from, this is a big NO THANK YOU.

    HDMI to Firewire

Regardless of what you think, NAB could care less. As for DRM, HDCP would be able to disable the connection for any non-compliant device so any company could make and sell this device with no issues whatsoever. However, HDMI is uncompressed video with HDMI 1.3 bandwidth 340 MHz (10.2Gbps)...

    Pictures of 1000.2 Dish

Actually its 100% the opposite - as small errors in MPEG2 only take up a small portion of the picture - the same size error in MPEG4 takes up a much larger portion of the picture. It's very if you consider a frame at 100KB in MPEG2 and you get a 2KB error, its 2% - however if you have 50KB...

Any advice onhow to get Dish to fix my 129 problem, they won't acknowledge anything

    1) There are no spotbeams on 129W 2) Watch the signal over 30 mintues and you will find more variation then what you have listed even without changing dishes. 3) Low 60 and 50s are no go for MPEG4. They create small errors on MPEG2, but with less info in a MPEG4 stream, little errors...

Any advice onhow to get Dish to fix my 129 problem, they won't acknowledge anything

And the reason I laugh when anyone says their signal is X - as it changes all over the place. What they also do not realize is the meter on the E* IRD shows the Quality of the signal, not signal strength.

Would you drop the VOOM Channels to save $10/month?

Because all the Voom Channels are for the last 14 months.
