i've been with both. they each have their pros and cons. one of the pros for Direct was it had a slightly better picture...at least to my eye it did. come back here and let us know if you notice any difference.

well heck, i may have to get the OTA module. i watch golf, football and survivor on CBS.

The Golf channel is a must for me which means AT200 minimum. i'm guessing they think that people who watch the Golf channel can afford it which is a bummer. If it was on AT120, i would drop in a second.

what a weird thing to say. for instance, i don't watch msnbc. if it was taken off the air, i couldn't care less. saying that it was so nice without them just doesn't make any sense at all.

you wouldn't. i wouldn't. but a lot of people, especially retired people watch it for a good portion of the day because that's what they want to watch. another reason is simply because they're not getting what they're paying for.

it's a good mix of channels. add the golf channel and i'm in.

how long will this go on? my parents, especially my dad, are losing their patience.

i'm glad i saw your post because i just switched from Direct and noticed that the picture quality was softer (not as sharp) with Dish. it's not really noticeable on my small tv but definitely noticeable on my 110" screen. so i tried switching the setting to 720p and now it's better. it's weird...
