Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Yeah that is what it is. I have no idea either but I really do appreciate it which is why I wanted to call someone to notify them of my good experience. I was thinking of perhaps using ceo@dish email.

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Yeah but it wasn't attached to my balcony.

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Just to update--Dish network customer service--horrible. Local installers--awesome. The tech called me at 8am, had to clarify what was going on as the rep didn't document it. I told him I needed it in a bucket, he told me he would call his supervisor to find out what he could do. Well he...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

It isnt concrete it is wood. Right now what I am thinking about doing is to put about 4 screws around the bucket. Get 3-4 inch screws and drill them around the bucket but leaving them up about an inch or so. This way the bucket won't move and it will be easy to remove. I guess this just...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Thanks for the suggestions. When I move I had just planned on taking a sledge hammer to the bucket--I wasn't going to put large screws in, just basic deck screws that would provide some security. But I had not thought of that--I may just end up putting screws in on the outside (at an angle) of...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

The tripod sounds like a great idea--the cinderblock idea seems good too or at least cheaper...But I am worried that in his letter he stated it could only be installed in a bucket so that is what I am going to do. I am going to drill holes in the bottom of the bucket to the balcony. That way...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

I wish it was that easy. I am in my 30s and this is the first time I have ever lived in an apartment. I have always owned my homes but this past February got divorced and let her have the home. So I am kind of in a transition period. I definitely miss owning my own place that is for sure...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

I already called Dish, at first they said they would charge 99.00 then I called back and was going to cancel and they said they would waive the fee.

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

I still have the paper, it says on the official dish form modifications approved: "Install Dish to balcony."

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Thanks Dishcomm I guess that cleared it up a bit. I agree it is what it is but I do think that renters should have the right to have access to a satellite or cable if they want. It is all about choices though. That is ultimately why I am just putting it into the stupid bucket. I did ask...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

I had thought about that but then I would have to still deal with the landlord. It would be easier just to have them put it in a bucket like he wants. I called Dish and they are coming out Monday morning to do this. I will have them (or do it myself if they wont) put screws in the bottom...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Normally I would probably do that but my installers saw a dish and mount below my apartment that wasn't being used so guess what they did--ha! They used it. Saved them some work I guess. So if they want to get technical I have to move my dish regardless--it isnt on my balcony. Just...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Yeah kind of--it is attached to the balcony (the front of the floor) not the railing. So I am screwed either way really. I still don't think it is fair to make us install it in a bucket but I think the installers have been getting a bit sloppy so that may be a reason.

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

Well what really sucks is he gave me a signed install paper back in February saying it was fine to attach it to the balcony. It is just irritating with the things that come up. He is a jerk anyway, his tone in most of his letters is always degrading. Normally I wouldnt care to switch to cable...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

When it rains, it pours. I cannot get my phone to connect to my pc to get the picture. Anyway it is installed on the balcony railing. But my problem is that when the Dish guys came to install back in Feb. there was a dish on the balcony below that noone was using so they just used that one...

Landlord forcing us to remove dishes from patio/balcony

It really must be nice for people to be able to sit around all day and see what type of stupid things they can come up with to occupy others' time. I just have received a letter from my landlord. I live in a 3 story apt building. It says we have 60 days to have our dishes removed from any...

DISH Network to pay $5.99 million in settlement

Yeah I have heard similar stories and I think there is a lawsuit against them now. But this was a relatively minor fine it seems (for a company of this size) so there is a good chance these practices have more than paid for themselves.

DISH Network to pay $5.99 million in settlement

Well one major problem is that they lock people in to contracts with early termination fees then begin to provide subpar service. It happened with me when I had Dish about 5 years ago and I have read a few stories from people with Directv. My service would go out multiple times during the...

Will older Dish reciever work with superdish?

So I am almost sure I need that adaptor for the legacy to use the switch but do you still need the adaptor for the legacy to use the lnb on the dish?

Will older Dish reciever work with superdish?

Thanks that is what I thought. However I did take the coax cables loose and try to test it indirectly but still recieved no signal. On the dp34 switch there are three cables going from the satellite lnb to the switch. I took each of these loose and hooked them one at a time into a duplexer...

Will older Dish reciever work with superdish?

Guys I have searched for an answer and havent been able to find one. If this is brought up all the time then my apologies, I know it is frustrating to see the same question. I had a superdish along with the dual tuner recievers installed a little over 2 years ago. I was unhappy with the...

Losing signal every time it rains...

I had a similar problem with my SuperDish. The locals would just go out almost constantly. My signal strength was in the 60's I think and the Dish network support guys said that was ok. My installer did come back out and got the number around 75ish which helped. Trying to get Dish to come...

    Man! This makes me mad.

I had the same problem with the SuperDish. I called Dish network and they were out supposedly and extremely backed up. They could do an install in like 3-4 weeks however I started to look at the local paper and saw where some retailers would do the install within 72 hours so I called them...
