I haven't tried it, but you could see if renaming them changes the order within the guide. I think David Zatz answered this question, but I can't remember if it did or not.

I got my TR-40 today. I set the timers, got the guide download at the next power up, and everything is fine re timers and channels as I set them. I'm going to let it sit on standby for another 3 hours and look again, but the disappearing/changing events -- I got none of that.

After the CECB approved list change, it looks to me like Sling is not going to be on the label. In addition to the Echostar TR-40 (no asterisk) there is this box now: DISH NETWORK TR-40CRA by Dish Network * Hard to miss that this model is by Dish Network. :rolleyes:

I feel sorry for Sears. Do you think they know they are taking something likely to have high return rates? And that is my greatest hesitation with Sears, because they are a "put it back on the shelf" kind of place, even when a return comes back as broken.

"Off brand" :D PS official end date for coupon program is July 9, 2009. I didn't know that coupons expired east coast time. We're being cheated out West.

If there are coupons remaining at the end (OTA only), we can count on mid-July for the last coupon expiration, assuming a fast 2 weeks processing time.

That would be nasty cliff for the people whose coupons expire in May 09.

There won't be 600,000 boxes a week sold after the coupons expire, but I would expect places like Radio Shack, Frys, and Amazon to do business in boxes still. Canada's later transition means there they will still be produced in quantity next year.

I wasn't thinking of diagnosis, just upgrade solution. I was thinking if upgrades come OTA through one network and some regions can't get reception to get the upgrade, a local dish dealer could have a simulated broadcast (in a room) to upgrade boxes, similar to how they seem to have tested with...

When they tested all these CECB boxes, did they use real air waves or simulation? If it was simulation, maybe they could simulate again from a Dish store's pc.
