    Leaving for streaming

AT200, no premiums. H3 and 4 joeys and was on the customer retention offer.. It's the damn equipment fees that ultimately killed it for me ($38.00 worth). Don't get me wrong, I still think that Dish has the absolute best STB interface available on the market... but it's not worth more than...

    Leaving for streaming

I tested YouTube TV back in December and then went on Dish Pause in February to force my family to transition over to YouTube TV. While there were certainly some differences in how thing work and perform - there were no show stoppers. Instead of just continuing to stay on Dish Pause for a few...

    Leaving for streaming

Well, after 22 years, I'm finally leaving. I just can't continue to justify the $122/mo spend when I have high speed internet and streaming available. So I'm jumping ship to YouTube TV (already have Netflix). Bye Dish.

What I've learned after 6 months without Dish.

    1) I honestly don't know as I haven't yet traveled out of my local channel market yet. 2) I have seen that only when I go to enter a live channel and I select 'start from the beginning' instead of 'join live'. If I join live I can watch that same channel for days.

What I've learned after 6 months without Dish.

Fair point but I do not use, nor have I or any member of my family ever used that feature so there is no loss there.

What I've learned after 6 months without Dish.

I'm struggling with similar issues with Dish vs YouTube TV notably - That said - I'm sucking it up because I'm looking at $70 per month in savings. All of my TVs are all Roku TVs so I already have native support for all the major streaming services built in. Cost: Dish $120 vs YouTube TV$50...

Another H3 OTA Problem - can't delete scanned channels

Look like I discovered the specific procedure to make this work: After you complete a rescan and you've removed the channels you don't want, click 'select all' then click save. It would appear that only the 'selected' channels will be saved.

Another H3 OTA Problem - can't delete scanned channels

I've had a consistent problem since I installed my H3 with OTA: I am unable to delete any channels that have been scanned in. I select either all channels or one individual channel and select delete, then save but when I go back in to the OTA menu, the channel(s) are back. I've even tried...

Anyone having OTA reception problems with H3?

I've noticed an annoying bug with H3 and OTA: I'm unable to delete or modify the scanned channel list. Put another way: The system won't let me delete any channels that are scanned.

    Official - I have a Hopper 3 Thread!

Update on mine: the OTA module never did start working. Chatted with Dish and they are shipping me a replacement.

    Official - I have a Hopper 3 Thread!

I just had my hopper 3 installed along with replacing my joeys. So far I have 2 outstanding issues that I haven't found a workaround for: 1). There doesn't appear to be a way to disable the advertising banner in the guide. Does anyone have any suggestions on that? 2). My USB OTA Tuner...

    Sling Adapter died?

Matt, I did reset the receiver several times including a full power cord unplug in addition to moving the adapter to a different USB port and it didn't seem to make any difference. Here is what is on the system status page: Sling Status: Not Ready Sling Adapter: 0.0.0 Sling Version...

    Sling Adapter died?

I have the Hopper 2000 (without sling) and have (had) a sling adapter on the unit working happily. Today when I attempted to use the Dish Anywhere app I got the error that it couldn't communicate with my receiver. I checked out the sling adapter and discovered no lights on the device and...

NEW DISH Pricing as of May 23, 2013

My point in the matter was specifically to stress the total 2013 rate increase incurred and to request a justification of the fee increases. In my statement is noted "There is absolutely no reason to raise the equipment fees when Dish is not representing any real increased cost associated with...

NEW DISH Pricing as of May 23, 2013

I forgot to include the text of the note I sent to the ceo email address about this when the original proposed fees were disclosed. I should note that i have not received any response to my email, but I will assume that since the fee proposal has now been rescinded it is acknowledged and...

Running H2/J off of a UPS

I agree that the VA rating most of the consumer brands use is not a true or accurate measure of runtime *BUT* it is the marketing the manufacturers typically use and the average consumer doesn't want to know or care about the volts x amps calulations and battery chemistry in the UPS. So my...

Running H2/J off of a UPS

I have a 2H/3J system but have been with dish since the 90s and I have always kept my main TV and Receiver locations protected with a UPS. By 'Main' TV locations, I mean each TV location that has an actual receiver (not just a Joey). I also have a UPS providing backup power to my wiring...

Question... Now that you have had your Hopper

I upgraded to 2H/2J system last year. 1. What are your favorite features on the Hopper/Joey? The biggest reason I upgraded was for HD in all rooms and the shared DVR. Those are still my favorite features, though the speed of the DVR, channel logos and show art in the guide and DVR were also...

Dish just called me -- Free sling adapter?

To those that are wondering: Yes, when the first Dish Online product was released in late 2009 called DRA or Dish Remote Access, the stand alone slingbox support was added in 2010 with remote viewing support and then the sling adapter was released later in 2010. Then there was about two years...

Fox is attacking the Hopper, Sling Adapter and Dish Anywhere now

I agree. And there is another piece that specifically talks about transmission over the Internet in that piece. Slingboxes and the Sling Adapter do not allow for 'public performance' or publich transmission.. instead they allow the original authorized and licensed consumer to playback the...

Dish Hopper with Sling - Would You Upgrade?

I currently have a 2H/3J setup with a true slingbox and hard wired Ethernet. So in effect, I gain absolutely nothing from the newer version..... 1) It may be a little faster but I have no complaints about the current Hopper Systems speed - Nope 2) It may have built-in wifi, but I...

DISH Network Sling Adapter Vs. SlingBox PRO-HD

I had both and I used both. The slingadapter only works with the Dish app and has pretty good intregration with the Guide and DVR listings in a native app/web interface format whether on a mobile phone or from the web. The problem I always had was randomly, the Dish Online service would just...
