    Part Time HD

Thanks for the info! How about some of the college sports networks like SEC Network, Longhorn Network, Pac 12 that sorta thing?

    Part Time HD

Are several RSNs and sports networks still part time HD on Dish? If so, which ones are part time and which ones are full time? I've looked around trying to find a good list, but it's hard to find anything solid. Thanks in advance!

    Local HD Channels

It looks like you're in the Rapid City TV market. Dish Network only carries SD local channels in your area.

    Regional PBS Channels

Good point. I glossed over that one. Interesting.

    Regional PBS Channels

I'm sure it's no coincidence that those are all states with a statewide network of PBS stations that simulcast the same broadcast. It seems unlikely that they would make them available to customers in other states, but it's odd that they have them up there for $2 as if they are going to charge...

    charlie chat

Thanks for posting them! I'm amused by the "College Football on Dish Network" slide. TBS hasn't broadcast college football games since 2006. CBS only carries 2 game maybe two weeks out of the season. Usually its just the one 3:30 ET afternoon game. The ESPN/ABC weekly count is even a stretch...

CONFIRMED(?)- Dish Discontinuing Absolute HD Package

I've run into the same problem online. When I called, they removed (in my case the HD Extra Pack) without any questions.

CONFIRMED(?)- Dish Discontinuing Absolute HD Package

Did you do this online or over the phone?

SEC FOOTBALL ON PEACHTREE TV THIS FALL

WPCH (Peachtree TV) will be the local SEC Network affiliate for the Atlanta TV market. If you live in a different market, those games could be on a local channel (depending on where you live). They'll also be carried on various RSNs.

    New HD question and "Testing"

If that is the case, then why is it always said that an MSO (Dish or otherwise) has "reached an agreement" to carry the HD version of a channel? I have a difficult time believing that these so-called agreements do not involve money.

    Racetrack Television Network Now Available

Did you happen click on the DirecTV receiver issue link? The blog may have been changed since Dish originally posted the link on their site, but it's basically praising DirecTV's response to the issue and their presence on Twitter. Of course, the comments below the article probably make Dish...

What package does EPIX1 and 2 come in?

Indeed they weren't used for broadcast. But a lot of people have old movies on VHS tapes and DVDs, and they might be under the impression that was the highest quality those films were available in.

    Comcast HD vs. Dish HD?

Whoa, that is not the case everywhere. Here, Comcast charges $7.95/month for HD even though they offer far fewer channels than either of the satcos.

What package does EPIX1 and 2 come in?

Look at the bottom of this page: HDTV - HD Channels & 1080P HDTV Most High Definition From DISH Older movies can definitely be in HD using the original source material. The reason the quality looked degraded before is because they were being saved onto crappier mediums like VHS and they were...

    100% local coverage

*shrug* That DirecTV page doesn't make any promises about individual stations, but they haven't missed any market launches since I've been watching it for the past year or so.

Salisbury HD locals are coming to DirecTV in October. It will be interesting to see if they have a deal worked out.

Which TV market are you in? They have announced several new HD markets for the coming year.

DISH loses 4 more HD channels - 3 Return

Is it true that Dish has never payed Disney for these channels? The MCN article states: And what is Dish's position? Is it their understanding that the previous contracts with Disney entitled them to carry these four networks as well?

    100% local coverage

Actually, DirecTV has just worked out a deal in several other markets to begin offering selected NY/LA stations (to subscribers who add local channels) until they are able to provide locals. For instance, in Lake Charles they are providing WCBS, WABC, CW East, and PBS national feed until they...

Nope, DirecTV doesn't offer them for Panama City. Although, they are planned for next year.

    Panama City DMA

Just FYI since I feel I may have mislead you before, I now believe DirecTV is actually providing NBC HD from New York to Dothan. Since they are mapping it to channel 12, I get the impression they may change it to WSFA when the Montgomery locals launch in October. No way to be certain about it...

That people have been talking about it here for weeks now. You asked if anyone noticed.

    100% local coverage

Okay, one month. And they weren't claiming because they weren't available at that time. But there has been a sticky at the top of this forum for almost a month now. http://www.satelliteguys.us/dish-network-forum/213309-dish-locals-launching-june.html
