As I recall Dish Promo (the software they use to access your account) could be real stubborn at times. The only agents that stand a chance against it are DIRT and or possibly Dr Dish (aka advanced tech support).

My advice is don't do pay in advance. If you do you will have to pay for any tech visits upfront if you add a channel like hbo you will have to pay a prorated fee upfront etc.

The top culprits are: 1. Misaligned Dish 2. Faulty Switch 3. Cable problem (loose connections faulty cable cable too long and needs a power inserter etc...) 4. Faulty set top box. I had the same problem after a recent storm and had the dish realigned and now I have no problem.

I have an ota antenna and I get Accuweather off the air. They are much better than the weather channel imho. It's a subcarrier channel 10-2 for WBNS here in Columbus! I think they should offer Accuweather as part of the locals where available.
