everything you just mentioned points to why I was so hopeful that the Dish HD LiL uplinks would be a good thing. I'm not getting serious dropouts, but the picture quality is terrible. So, all in all, it is a decidedly mixed bag.

agreed... it's nice to be able to watch WFAA without the signal constantly breaking up as it did via OTA, but the channel is clearly being presented in a resolution far lower than that which constitutes HD. If I had to guess from the way the picture looks, I would say we are viewing a 480P signal.

In watching the Lost finale last night on the recently uplinked WFAA digital station, it seemed that I was viewing a SD broadcast that was simply in widescreen. Has anyone checked bitrates or resolution on this station? When I was able to pick up WFAA Digital OTA, it was a very crisp and clear...

Dear God... let WFAA - Dallas (Channel 8) be included in that list. I might actually get to watch Lost tonight in HD without the signal dropping out ever 3 minutes. WFAA can kiss my A$$!

Interesting: my 622 its EXTREMELY noisy compared to my 942. Since it is working flawlessly, I'm not going to tempt fate by sending it back...

I'm very interested in the answer to this question. We desperately NEED HD Lil in Dallas. Channel 8 just doesn't ever cooperate with me. I don't think I'm alone with that problem. Watching LOST in SD SUCKS!

As far as I can tell, just the receiver. My 622 came with 2 additional remotes and a whole host of cables. No Component cables this time, though... I have way too many remotes. Thank god for my universal.

Just to give you guys a followup. I decided to go ahead and hook up the 622 myself. As soon as everything was connected, I called the Dish $299 promo toll-free number and had everything up and running within 10 minutes. No problems at all. EASY. Frankly, I don't feel that a 90 day install...

I'm upgrading to a 622 from a 942, so all the appropriate dual tuner equipment is in place. Hrm... decisions!

Hello everybody! My 622 arrived today, but my install is scheduled for almost 2 weeks from now. I'm perfectly capable of installing this myself, but the tech support people over at Dish keep telling me that if I do so, I'll void some kind of 90 day warranty. What does this warranty cover...

stupid homeowner's association won't allow exterior antennas. Strangely, they have no problem with multiple dishes...

I have a rather large amplified channelmaster in my attic... Does that qualify as a real antenna for you?

I don't have any problems with Fox, but ABC is virtually impossible to watch... the picture always pops in and out... lots of probelms with ABC...

Well, it's still on and that's a good thing. Maybe Dish is actually doing something positive for its 942 owners. It would be great if they would leave the channel up and running... time will tell.

That's pretty sad. When you have less content than a voom channel, it might be time to re-think your programming.

Actually, BSG looks to be shot on film. I imagine that they just are just not spending much money on the transfer.

Battlestar Galactica is very cool to have in HD... Quantum Leap is nice as well. I can do without Knight Rider.

That's a damn shame... I was really enjoying the channel. I guess once April 1st rolls around and I get my install date set for October, then everything will be just fine. :mad:
