Back on topic, sort of, I've been getting some interesting offers from Dish since I cancelled a couple of years ago. 2 year price lock on any of their plans and a $500 prepaid debit card. Very tempting.

He's probably on a roaming plan. When I had Starlink I regularly got between 90-250 Mbps regardless of the time of day.

5G has not panned out the way it was expected to. I know quite a few people who switched from Verizon or T-Mobile Home Internet to Starlink and are much happier with the performance.

Starlink is worldwide and not just in the US. It will continue to grow.

Yep. I've been with Starlink for a little over 3 years after suffering nearly 20 years with dial up, Hughesnet and Viasat. It's a game changer for sure. I can stream all day and not worry about a restrictive data cap.

Dish Network's days are numbered. There is no way they can stay in business if they continue to bleed subscribers at the current rate.

The HDD wasn't showing up in disk management. After I installed and ran Data Lifeguard Diagnostic it did.

Is there a way to reformat an external HDD that I had been using with Dish so I can use it with a PC? Edit: never mind. Found a program from WD called Data Lifeguard Diagnostic that let me format the HDD.

Too late. The FCC has already given the green light for 3500 generation 2 satellites.

I've only had experience with Charter/Spectrum and Comcast. I'd take either in a heartbeat over any satellite connection. Period.
