Reformat an external HDD?

Is there a way to reformat an external HDD that I had been using with Dish so I can use it with a PC?

Edit: never mind. Found a program from WD called Data Lifeguard Diagnostic that let me format the HDD.

In the future it can be done on a computer without that program in "disk management". Format it on a computer then when you reconnect it to Dish it will reformat it again.

The HDD wasn't showing up in disk management. After I installed and ran Data Lifeguard Diagnostic it did.
