You do get the SD version of each HD channel. In the multi sports pack if the game is not in HD it is still in SD. My only problem with dish America is I am a fan of Fox News and that was a killer for me to miss.

LOL.. . be careful believing anybody when they tell you your locals in HD are coming. I watched Charlie live on the Charlie Chat show mine going live last November. Six months later they are still not live.

What about the locals on 77W that still are not turned on? Will they go live at this time as well?

Scott ... are the uplinked locals channels waiting for E14? I am waiting patiently for the Davenport (Quad Cities) locals to get turned on. Is E14 what they are waiting for?

Digi .. is this satellite going to give us the locals currently uplinked but not available yet? My locals have been uplinked for almost two months but still not on.

Fox North shows almost all the games in scheduled in HD (at least 85 games this year) as does Comcast Chicago for me.

Agreed ... who is D*calling out E*. They are way behind E* in HD that SHOULD be counted. I could really care less what anybody claims ... I am smart enough to look at what is available and make decisions.

I guess I would rather have the MLB Network and full time HD RSN's. Skip all the new national HD as there really isn't that much interesting to go HD ... except ESPNU-HD ... :):)

For 5.95 it beats the heck out of the overpriced D* alternative at 12.95. I, like Ira, live in Iowa and it is a great deal for me. Also get the Big 10 network if you live out of the Big 10 markets .. I believe. Love the Red Zone for pro football as well.

Looks like locals will be up in HD for Rochester "soon". Why not aim the antenna at LaCrosse and then have the Rochester for Dish HD? From what I hear you will still get guide information for both.

Dish carried Smithsonian for a very short period. Why did they drop this channel? The HD looks exceptional but it is gone. Also the Africa Channel is out and rumored going to D* in the next list. Any chance E*will pick it up? Other channel is National Geographic Wild will debut later this...

I would guess Davenport, IA, Paducah, KY and Evansville, IN will be next since they were promised in November.

I was talking about"moving" .... I would keep my OTA for Davenport and then pick up CR or Des Moines. Looks like DSM would be out per spotbeam but CR may be available. With the 722K can I change an OTA channel while recording another OTA channel? Currently if I am recording OTA I can't watch...

Jasperpso .... would I be able to get Des Moines or Cedar Rapids in Davenport? Would want to make sure we are in their spot beam. Got to stay in Iowa or I would lose Fox North for my Twins. I do get my locals via a square shooter but that only gives me one viewing option at at a time on my 622...

Why were they were postponed in the first place? It was November, per Charlie Chat, that they were going live. Then they are delayed .. why? Now 3 months later .. no word. Any dealers know what is up?

Because DirecTV doesn't like to add HD ... why should they? The keep adding subs without giving the customers more HD!

Just wish I had an answer why Dish said we were to be live and then it got delayed. Nobody has an answer. We have been jacked around for almost a year. If you announce us in November on the Charlie Chat make it happen. At least a reason why it didn't happen
