From experience, the problem is almost always lack of people / contactability on the affiliate end. It's so bad that I never even bother looking for numbers anymore - I just call that station's newsroom. Having E* calling as well wouldn't help much - it's usually just the affiliate messing up

Actually, this is based on an old map, if true - Monroe and Shelton lost NESN last year, amidst much fanfare. Technically, we shouldn't get NESN, as Monroe is in Fairfield County (part of the NY DMA)

Also not the first one - the 1-game playoff between San Diego and Colorado was also on TBS HD. Not to gloat, but D* had this on 2 (!) HD channels, including a "special events" channel.

I currently use Charter for Modem and Phone, D* for TV. Charter's one good fault is that it doesn't nail you as badly as some of the other cable co's with regards to having their services without TV. Your results may vary...

Switched video is the big question mark here... I have a feeling there would be a fairly large class-action lawsuit on the heels of any large-scale switched rollout in HD, mostly due to cablecard customers losing access. Plus - the use of "unlimited" is a much bigger stretch over ANYTHING...

It's not that sinister. It would be if there weren't a very high multiple of more EYEBALLS looking at these RSN's. YES is by far the highest rated RSN nationally. I believe NESN is second.
