    cord shaving

Not sure if it still works the same way but before I had Flex plus Locals I was ONLY getting data for the main channels. The sub-channels and channels out of my DMA had NO guide data.

REMINDER: HBO Special Price Ending 9/20

Mine DID end on 9/20. I just got my bill and I was prorated $15 from 9/20 and billed $15 for October. Selecting the option to cancel if it went up didn't work, surprise.

    $10 HBO going away???

I've set my subscription to expire when the promotion ends. At $10 a month I was willing to keep it for GoT and \W/, but at $15 I'll just wait for the 4K discs, which I already buy anyways. Disney has to pay for Star Wars, which has been a flop for them since they included all of the SJW nonsense.

DISH lost over 318,000 subs first quarter of 2017

Indeed. Just take away all of that crap, hand him a ball, and tell him to go outside and play. :D

    4k from BBCA

I used multi-channel stereo mode on my Denon to get halfway decent audio. In Dolby Surround mode the audio came out crystal clear... from the left rear channel. LOL Poor Aquatic Iguana babies but those Racer snakes gotta eat too.

    Job Weight Limit Question

No harm in trying, but I wouldn't bank on it. I didn't think I would get a call either since my age is north of 50. I got a call but turned it down since I already had another job ( better pay, better working conditions ) by the time they got around to calling me.

    Job Weight Limit Question

I'm betting that 275 pounds also includes any equipment you'll have to haul up that ladder that is only rated for 300 pounds at most. I know they put that weight limit there for inclusion purposes, but I've never seen installers in my area that weighed more than 200 pounds and were older than 30.

    Tribune Broadcasting Company Blacks Out DISH Customers in 33 Markets;

I'm fine with it since I'm only missing CBS, which I haven't watched in over a year. I watch CW more than any other network, by far, which is unusual for my demographic. I'm too old to be a typical CW watcher, but I like all the DC stuff they have going on now.

What is a "recovery mode" on a VIP722?

I know you got a new 722, but the high-pitched/buzzing sound was probably the fan going bad, which is really no different than an 80mm fan in a computer when it is about to die. My 722 was being problematic and was from 2011 and was the 2nd one. They seem to last 4 to 6 years before something...

    Dish tech old receivers signature

I signed electronically after my install and received an e-mail copy a few days later. One was the Service Agreement, which has a section ( B ) of the equipment being installed, and ( C ), the equipment being returned. The other PDF was for the re-pop of the 24-month agreement. My MyDish account...

Time for an new EHD for the H3

I have a Thermaltake BlacX Duo that works with drives under 2 TB, but my AMS enclosures with 3TB, 4TB, and 6TB drives are not recognized. It is just silly that a device like the Hopper 3 doesn't have full addressing. It is stuck in 2004. Hardware RAID doesn't seem to work as well, so the AMS...

    HOPPER 3 UPGRADE WAITING LIST!

^^^ I'm upgrading from a ViP to a Hopper 3 on May 6th. 3. A tech has to come out for the install in my case. They charge $95 for the truck roll but is only $10 for me since I have the $8 a month Dish Protection Plan. 4. I was charged $150 for the Hopper 3, $10 for the install, and $4 and...

Could Viacom Channels Go *Poof* This Week?

The only thing I'll miss are the Futurama and South Park reruns on Comedy Central. I wouldn't watch BET if it was the only channel on Earth. Not my demographic.

ViP 722 rebooting on power up.

My Dish ViP 722 is rebooting only when I turn it on. It has been doing it for about 3 months now and only seems to do it if the receiver checks for an update while it is not on. If I forget to turn it on and let it do its thing the first 10-12 minutes of any timed recordings that fall before a...

    DISH Comcast Dispute?

Lost Girl lost me when Bo ( Anna Silk ) decided she was a lesbian. The pull of Kenzi ( Ksenia Solo ) wasn't great enough for me to stick around. I've about had it with "The 100" as well for the same thing with that main character, but at least there is a lot more going on and they FINALLY killed...

After nearly 19 years... is this the end of Dish for me?

I've been on the Welcome Pack for about two years now. Did that when I decided to start actually using my Amazon Prime account for something else besides free shipping. I did add HBO for $10 recently, but that was mainly to have access to HBO Go on the Roku. Between that and OTA there is way...

Eighth worst company to work for?

That is standard, or even above standard, for retail. Those folks slogging it away at WalMart for a year might get a nickle or dime raise. 1.5% to 2.5% raise a year was standard at most of the manufacturing plants I worked at. A lot of businesses only give a COLA with no guarantee of getting one...

    Quality RG-6 purchasing source recommendations

Lowes sells a 250' reel for around $33. Not sure of the brand of that reel but two major manufacturers of wire in the USA are Southwire and Cerrowire. Romex brand, of course, is made in Mexico.

They've been putting FLIR in ALL the boxes that use an IR remote for over 20 years now. ;)

Why does Dish seem to have more Provider Disputes?

I remember TWC going dark. That was actually good because Dish gave us Weather Nation, I think, which actually gave me weather instead of disaster programming. I'm caring less and less about cable networks with the number of channels appearing on local sub-channels and what I can get with Roku...

    3tb EHD

Certainly true for the most part. As time goes by, and maybe currently on new 1TB and 2TB drives, the actual data density would likely be the same as their 4TB to 6TB brothers. Only the number of platters inside would be different. Not sure which would be better -- lower density with 4 platters...

    Goodbye ESPN Classic

Small stickers, that usually advertise what component brands are installed inside the case, that a geek would affix to their gaming rig. Some are free and packaged with the components but the bubble-type and aluminum ones can cost a few bucks each. Must not watch Big Bang Theory. ;)

I just ordered Dish Network! Do they also install an antenna?

Bow-tie antennas can pick High-band VHF but the range is very limited. The DB4e range on high-band VHF is probably no more than 15 miles, but that is just a guess based on the design. The Solid Signal one actually states 15 miles for VHF high. I only have one low-power VHF High about 10 miles...

    Goodbye ESPN Classic

They can ALL go away for all I care; after all, geeks don't watch sports. ;) I'd rather spend the $6.50 a month on case badges.
