    Official 922 Release Notice

So is there any coaxial output at all working on this box? If so, would it be live at the same time as using HDMI? I need this to run 2 tv's but I don't need to watch 2 different programs. Guess I could buy a converter if I have to, right?

    Watching content outside the US

Sounds like a lot of hassle. I'd look at going VSAT in Asia. Should be enough bandwidth for Slingbox. Cost ya about $150- per month. Otherwise depending on where in Asia, you could make friends with a US serviceman and get the military sat hookup. ;-)

    TV2 high def

Cheaper short-term maybe but you have the added receiver cost per month, plus the BS factor of moving files, plus the external HD fee. With this you could also add an IR repeater and a switch so you can use the same line for your BluRay player/HTPC as well. :o

    TV2 high def

Have you checked into wireless HDMI? They also make HDMI to CAT5 converters that are good for 300 ft at 1080P. There's a few options on Google.

Dish ad shows addition of CNN and CN HD

I would have agreed with you until I watched South Park in HD. Believe it or not, there is a nice difference. Those of you with an Xbox 360 know what I'm talking about.

Dish ad shows addition of CNN and CN HD

I'll take what I can get at this point. Hell, give me the Basket Weaving channel - as long as it's in HD.

Finally got the Upcoming list from a CSR

No worries. I would consider it if I thought it would be the last switch and I liked Direct's equipment. It would be great if they both opened up to outsourcing/third-parties and someone made a universal box.:D Maybe someday... Until then, I have something to complain about. ;)

Finally got the Upcoming list from a CSR

I would agree with you if I didn't have a significant investment in equipment. I can't just switch providers everytime the wind blows a different direction. I don't have $500 - $1000 to blow everytime one of these companies starts to slack in value. However, if the wind continues to blow this...

Finally got the Upcoming list from a CSR

I'm sure that Scifi HD will hit just after the BSG series ends because after that, I probably won't care. Forgive the negative attitude but I'm so tired of Dish right now. In this day-and-age, there's really no excuse for not communicating some accurate dates here. Contrary to what Charlie...

Dish Network Media Center Tuner Coming Soon?

Been waiting for this for a while now. One less box under my tv would be great. I'd doubt Charlie would let it happen though for fear of not being able to lock down everything on it. Too progressive for Dish Network, I'm afraid.

A Note From Scott on New HD

It would be nice to watch Battlestar Galactica in HD this Friday!

    HTPC Tuner Cards

That's why I figured the new external storage protocols might change that as then there's really no difference between internal storage on an HTPC or external from my 622 with a thumb drive.

    HTPC Tuner Cards

Exactly. Maybe the idea was too progressive for dish?

    HTPC Tuner Cards

Hello All, I've been delving into the world of home theater PC's and I heard a while ago that Dish had a tuner card in the works (an MS partnership comes to mind). I could be mistaken. Any one hear anything about this lately? One would think the recent external storage parameters may...

    Dish 622 frame rate

Thanks for the response, guys. I don't think I'm looking at HD-lite as I only really notice it on recorded HD, not live. Could it be drive transfer speed or maybe a setting that I missed? it doesn't seem likely to me that there'd be a setting to drop the framerate/compression but I guess...

    Dish 622 frame rate

Just got my 622 hooked up a few days ago and I'm still getting to know it. For the most part I'm happy with it...until tonight. I recorded 'The Wedding Date' from HBO HD for the wife and she is currently watching it now. While the picture detail and quality is definately HD, the framerate...
