    new install setups southern michigan

Need a little clarification. I have to admit I'm alittle confused with the recent changes. I do installs between lansing and north to grayling but I usually shut down for a few months in the winter. I'm not familiar with the new install formats and it seems like there is some conflicting info...

Dish Network full of lies...weekend home

cable companiy fault?? This customers experience is all too common and is definately a case of selective enforement but as many of the other posters have stated it is within the rules that have always been in place....they have just established a policy of enforcing the rules. I know for a fact...

    changing signal strength

Thanks for all the replies...as I stated I checked everything...and mount is "solid as a rock" It is a roof mount with support arms. I can't get a good handle on it as everytime I go out it seems ok but I believe the customer and had him keep kind of a 'log' noting the times of day/night and...

    changing signal strength

I am having a strange problem with an install thats about 3 months old. Recently the customer began having picture dropouts and when doing signal checks I found signal seemed a little low. Checked dish and its solid as a rock. Checked everything and couldn't find anything wrong. The signal seems...

indian programming thanks guys...I use superdish 121 all the time in our locale as our locals are on the 121 bird so I'm glad to know this programming is on the same spot. I have called retail svcs often in the past but since I found you guys its so much nicer to ask here in regards to these...

    indian programming ?

I've been a dealer/installer awhile in northern mich but am very unfamiliar with the equipment needed for international programming. A new resident in my area from India is interested in programming and I was wondering what satellite/dish config are going to be used. Thanks all.

EQUIPMENT RIPOFF: Contract Company vs Tech, need inside assistance please :(

Call dishnet and tell them you bought these recivers at a garage sale ( you can do this just a few at a time) and want to know if you can activate them because you realize that sometimes people don't pay their balance off. They will ask you for the #s and tell you if they are on an active acct...

    new grounding requirements?

I really appreciated your insightful post. You also have been around awhile or are open minded enough to realize the rampant inconsistancy in regards to grounding policy. You're absolutely correct...as I said in one of my first posts I'm really not trying to be a know it all but actually I have...

    new grounding requirements?

Well...there are 3 cables coming from the dish, right? According to the principle of switch after ground wouldn't you have to ground all 3 cables or is it ok to ground just one? Another thing that I can't figure out..( I'm sure there's a good explanation ) Is how this applies to dishpro twin and...

    new grounding requirements?

More on grounding Thanks for all the input. Another confusing thing is the way they are always changing the requirements. I know the laws of physics in regards to electrical engineering don't change.I'ld like to know who sits around and thinks this stuff up. For example the last post quoted the...

    new grounding requirements?

Thanks for the welcome! I guess I'm kind of confused. How would it make a diff if the case of the 34 switch was the junction point of ground wire to cable shield or the ground blocks were the junction point of ground wire to cable shield and then you have 3 short cable jumpers to the 34 switch...

    new grounding requirements?

Maybe it's a procedure that is gradually being implimented at some companies. But I guess my real question is why not just use the 34 switch itself as the ground block...aren't you doing the exact same thing if you were to ground to the lugs on the switch itself instead of installing 3 ground...

    new grounding requirements?

The company I install for just recently told us we had to start mounting our sw34's in the same area that we put our ground blocks and run our cable from the dish to the ground blocks (now 3) before the 34 switch...is it just me or does this sound kind of ridiculous? Can you imagine the pain in...
