I think you misread an old press release. GMC launched an HD simulcast on November 27th last year. While the press release is a little confusing because it mentions DirecTV, it does not indicate the HD feed will launch on DirecTV.

I suspect it may have something to do with carriage of the CW on KNOE-2. DirecTV has that channel up in test along with KNOE and KACY. Just a hunch.

The data should be correct as of a week ago today. The new sat is at 103, and that's where all of the re-arranging took place. If you aren't seeing anything on 99 (make sure you're looking at 99B or 99S and not 99A or 99C), then you should see something on the 103A or 103S transponders.

This is true. The only exception I can think of is PBS in North Carolina, where both the primary HD feed and the UNC-EX subchannel is carried in the HD markets.

That is untrue. DirecTV carries several subchannels, mainly CW and MyNetworkTV affiliates.

Most of the SEC Network games were on RSNs and not blacked out. There are a few PPV games on GP, but it's not always worth the cost as most of those games are scheduled blowouts against smaller schools. 103s is the one you should be looking at, because those are the spotbeam transponders for the satellites around 103w. You are correct that St Louis HD locals should be on tps 15 and 23. I made a chart to make it a little bit easier to see which cities you should be seeing on each transponder.

Does your configuration allow you to see 119? Most of your locals are on 119, with the exception of KIXE which is on 101. The HD locals are on 99 and 103, but unfortunately DirecTV doesn't offer them in your area yet.

I've used an AM21 with a non-DVR HD receiver before. I don't remember if it was a 21. I think it would work still.

I don't suspect they would show up on SD receivers even if they could see those sats. Kinda like the HD-only local markets.

Both of these channels are MPEG-4 SD on DirecTV 12. Time to bite the bullet and get HD, Ice! :D
