Does anyone know if I get two HD DVRs with the whole home dvr system is it smart enough to resolve recording conflicts on both DVRs? For example if DVR 1 has 3 recordings at the same time will DVR 2 pick up the third recording, allowing me to record 3 things at the same time?

True but you can over compress any algorithm. it is possible for D* to over compress the mpeg4 stream but why would they? at best I would expect for them to keep the PQ where it is now not make it worse.

I currently have E* but I plan to move to D* when they release an affordable HD DVR. Right now I only have an HD STB but I wanted to know if D*'s STB will upconvert the SD picture to an HD format as the 811 does (I know the 811 just scales the SD image and that the picture is not true HD.)...

Does D* have a deal if you refer someone to them?

I am more likely to believe what I read here than from any CSR. So far SatelliteGuys has not been wrong or misleading to me!

not anytime soon... I would expect D* to keep some mpeg2 going for at least 3 more years, maybe even as long as 6.

The real question is will the new Mpeg4 box cost more than the current Mpeg2 box (for new subs). Because I would rather wait a few months after DA* starts using Mpeg4 before switching, but I might switch sooner if the new Mpeg4 box is going to cost $500 bucks for new subs.
