I know that I really, really miss The Weather Channel. When severe weather hits my area and knocks out my satellite service, the first place I turn is the Signal Acquisition screen on The Weather Channel. When the signal returns, I know the severe weather has passed. Thank you, Weather Channel!

I will post an update when I have one. I understand the actual technician was bound by what his boss told him but that doesn't mean the decision was correct. If I wasn't so disgusted with Dish's treatment of me as a very long-time customer, I'd just give up.

That's an odd guess. If they tend to turn on locals on Wednesdays, why would you guess a Tuesday?

I think that what charper is saying is that you get a free dish, not satellite, with installation when you sign-up with DIRECTV. Therefore, there's no reason to worry about using your current dish because DIRECTV will give you a new one free.
