Both times I've had my HR20-100 fail it was replaced with a refurbed HR20-100. My second refurb just decided it didn't want to accept remote inputs so its getting called in tomorrow.
I get a good amount of blocking on my HR20-100 connected via HDMI to my Sony 60" XBR2. I get this on pretty much any HD channel, especially noticeable on my HD local channels.
It would cost them a whole lot more money in customer service calls in Sept. when D10 goes live and people call in asking why they can't wait Cartoon Network HD.
jdspencer, you still have a working DSR6000!?! I had two of them way back in the day and loved them so much, both eventually died and were replaced with Hughes Series 2 units.
My HR20 and AU9 are scheduled to be installed on Thursday, I can't wait!
After thinking about it, I'm going to hold off for a bit and see how well Dish's MPEG4 change out goes and see how well they do with their HD locals, which is the main reason why I want to switch.
Robert and the whole VE team are great people and I'm sure no one there did this to you on purpose, it probably was sent out from a wharehouse like that.
I have tried our local cable company, Cox, and the service and equipment STINKS! My wife even complained at how bad the picture look compared to our old DirecTV service. So we went back to DirecTV, also with the hope that DirecTV would BE the leader in HDTV.
am I crazy for thinking about going to Dish. I personally like some of the Voom channels. On top of the fact that my city will be getting HD LiLs on Dish this year, whereas DirecTV won't be until 2007 at the earliest.
As long as my local cable company continues to use the Pioneer Passport Echo software on their DVR, it will take NDS and DirecTV years to hit that level of crappiness.
There are a lot more PSP owners out there then Archos owners though, and that number is only going to continue to climb. You can currently buy a PSP with a 1GB Memory Stick.
