Complain to both your local Fox affiliate and DirecTv for not working out a deal that's fair for both companies. You're going to see this kind of thing pop up more and more now that broadcasters want to monetize their signals that satellite and cable companies used to carry for free.

Interestingly when I looked last night my DVR had a national release on it. I had a CE on it before this. My theory is they sent out a national release that went wrong. That would explain my loss of recordings. the CE notes clearly said if you revert back to a national release you'd lose...

What a crap answer from DirecTv. I lost every recording I made post 9/25/08. Are they going to be able to recover the indexes of the recordings that are missing? On further investigation it looks like I've lost all of the recordings I made with CE software. It goes back further than 9/25

Very smart move for DirecTV... looking past the obvious home user stuff, this is perfect for insulation against any lawsuits. DTV won't be paying out millions of dollars to Tivo for patent infringement. They'll get some subs back who are die hard Tivo users. Very smart move.

What would be nice are some replays from during the season of games. NFL Net is the only one that replays games during the off season. NBA doesn't. They play classic games here and there. Same with NHL . MLB needs to replay games from the previous season during the winter. Keep the interest...

That's the plan from what I understand. They'll take RSN feeds of a couple of games a week. For the casual fan this is a good thing. For us die hards, it's still EI all the way :)

I've got an Accomdata 1tb hard drive works great so far. I don't have any real world numbers for you... but... I've got about 12 movies 5 or 6 hogans heroes 4 baseball games and about a10 or so assorted episodes of HD series have I haven't dropped below 76% available on the drive space...

I'd be happy if the listing matched the game. Recently the Mariners were scheduled on the -1 for FSNW and the game was actually the Royals-Yankees. The Mariners game was indeed in HD, Dish had it... but it was no where to be found on DirecTV There's no excuse for stuff like that.

They have to hedge their bets in case CBS doesn't come through with all games in HD. Rumor has it CBS has internally pledged to do that but it remains to be seen.

Laugh as you may... when i mentioned a slow summer and no new HD till august or so my wife said "I hope it's QVC HD" :)
