I don’t know if this will help but I have five RC73 remotes paired to my HR54. In addition to that, I also control it with a Harmony remote. Update: Discovered that although I *thought* had five RC73s paired, it turned out that when the fifth one was paired, it un-paired one of the others. So...

That happens to me as well, with an HR54 connected to a Denon receiver. Doesn’t happen all the time though — just occasionally. Haven’t been able to figure out a reason.

Same here. I have an Apple TV in some rooms that don’t have DirecTV boxes, so this makes a nice addition at no extra cost.

Thanks for heads-up. I installed it on Apple TV and it works great. Pleased to see that the news and sports channels are streaming in 60 fps — very smooth motion, as good as watching the DVR.

I experienced this as well, on three receivers. All signal levels looked good, so I started suspecting the LNB. Swapped it with a spare but the problem remained. Checked back a little later and everything was OK.

When I worked at a TV station, I had a phone number that would get me right to the DirecTV technical operations center — never had a problem getting immediate action when contacting those folks. Sadly, the consumer has no such option.

I tweeted at them — they responded, but wanted to start troubleshooting my equipment. I wasn’t about to go down that rabbit hole, so I replied that all they need to do is tune to 340 and LISTEN.

I’m sure you’re correct. No doubt they also have equipment that will monitor for issues such as loss of audio, loss of video, etc., but sadly nothing other than a pair of ears can flag the kind of issue that is occurring here.

I agree, though so far, at least on this board, we seem to be the only ones who can hear it. That in itself is quite curious, as it’s anything but subtle.
